Welcome to Rapture…ten years later. In a world where everyone is addicted to ADAM and would kill over the commodity of obtaining it, you are the outsider. The only thing connecting you to the world is the fact that you are a Big Daddy and your Little Sister is your connection to the world. It’s only been ten years but splicers are still seen roaming around the ocean floors of Rapture with no end in sight. In fact, some have even altered the chemicals inserted into their bodies and have transformed into Brute splicers. One of the biggest advantages of being a Big Daddy is you’re able to endure much more damage than Jack would’ve been able to endure. After three years, you might be wondering why you should bother buying Bioshock 2, after all, sequels can’t surpass originals, or can they? Here are five reasons you should take your chances and purchase what could become one of the highest rated games of 2010:
1. You get to visit Rapture again.
Who wouldn’t want to visit the dysfunctional, mythological underwater Rapture? Built on the ocean floors as a new beginning by Andrew Ryan, Rapture is now under the control of Sofia Lamb who is power hungry and all-too-eager to allow the community to thrive in their power. The suspense and chills that will run down your spine are enough to want to keep you glued to the TV waiting for the next unsuspecting victim. After all, if a game is able to provoke that sort of response from a gamer, it has to be worth the experience. Dive into Rapture to visit the splicers again.
2. You’re a Big Daddy, you have a Little Sister.
Set 10 years after the original, Bioshock 2 starts you off on New Year’s Eve, taking you into a familiar world where you have fought endless enemies and countless foes. An unlikely hero, you’re a Big Daddy paired up with a Little Sister. In a world where Andrew Ryan’s failed utopia is still silently thriving (in all the negative ways), a Little Sister will serve as your guide to the ocean floors. She will warn you about near enemies and allow you to have enough time to set up traps to defend yourself and the Little Sister. With no memory of a past, you are forced to walk the waters of Rapture.
3. You get to be heartless.
Once again, like Bioshock, you will have the ability to choose the fate of the Little Sisters. The moral decisions are left to you to decide but just know whatever you choose, your ending will be influenced. In fact, multiple endings were confirmed by the developer. Harvest or rescue, your decision.
4. The gameplay has vastly improved.
Players now have the ability to simultaneously dual their weapons between plasmids and weapons which provide the most convenient gaming experience that adds to the advantage of the game overall. Now, you won’t have to decide between plasmids or weapons because it has been made easier for the player.
5. Who can forget about the multiplayer experience?
In 2007, multiplayer in Bioshock was completely unheard of. Not that that necessarily deterred the game from being the highest rated game of 2007, but if changes had been made to include the multiplayer experience, even more people would’ve appreciated the game. Conveniently, online multiplayer has been added onto Bioshock 2 which will not follow the storyline of the plot. Some of the games that will be available to play are: Free-for-All (Survival of the Fittest), team games (Civil War), Last Splicer Standing, Capture the Sister, ADAM Grab, and Turf War. Although the multiplayer will probably not be as heavily involved as other FPS games, it is interesting to see where the developers have decided to go with their decision to include a multiplayer angle.
While the original Bioshock became the highest rated game of 2007, Bioshock 2 has a lot to prove in terms of quality and whether it’ll live up to the hype. Take a look at the launch trailer and determine for yourself. After seeing the launch trailer Bioshock 2 shows a promising followup. With an intense storyline that aims to satisfy your cravings, there should be no excuse from not picking up this amazing gem. Be sure to pick up a copy, in stores on February 9 for Windows PC, Xbox 360, and the PlayStation 3.

Great post, welcome to VGG. The idea of an article which includes useful information & informed opinion instead of dumb jokes seemed crazy to me, but you really pulled it off.
Thanks! I was a bit unsure how it would come across but I’m glad it worked in my favor

Looking forward to writing more stuff with you guys, seems like a potential site
In regards to #1, don’t forget now you can walk along the ocean floor on the OUTSIDE of Rapture! Personally I can’t wait to go exploring out there
Joshua this fact alone sometimes makes me wake up in the middle of the night in a sweaty fit.
I can’t wait to explore the rest of Rapture
