Modryn Oreyn is a dunmer knight and champion of the Fighters Guild. He is located in Chorrol and acts as Vilena Donton's second in command. He is openly credited by the locals with holding the guild together after Vilena's breakdown over the death of her son and thus suffering leadership.
Modryn is hostile and harsh torwards new members, possibly due to many members incompetance such as Maglir who consistantly defaults on contracts. He is extreamly loyal and dedicated to the guild even continueing to pursue the Blackwood Company after being expelled from the guild. He tries to bring Viranus Donton out of his shell and boost his confidence knowing Viranus's frustration with his over protective mother even though if any harm came to Viranus it could and dose get Modryn expelled.
Modryn has a strong hatred for the Blackwood Company knowing they are reckless, dishonest, and possibley harbouring some 'dirty' secret' to there success. His hatred for them started when Vilena Donton's son, Vitellus Donton was killed along with twenty good men who tried to retrieve the sword Sinweaver from Azani Blackheart in order to complete a contract for someone named Argoth. After all his men were killed the Blackwood Company appeared and finished off Azani establishing themselfs as an alternative to and making the Fighters Guild look bad. However Sinweaver went missing causing Modryn to suspect they never killed Azani and instead made a deal with him.
One of Modryn Oreyn's passions is painting and a comicle painting he is often seen working on in his house depicts him torturing the argonian from an earlier quest. He is the last of the Oreyn bloodline after his ancestor in Morrowind angered the daedric prince Malacath for stealing the fame and glory of an orc adventurer. Malacath was so irked that even though the two had long been dead he set out to kill what he mistakenly thought was the last of the Oreyn line, unaware of Modryn in Cryrodill.
