Sakigami (Flora God of Blossoms) is the Celestial Brush God of flowers and the Celestial Brush Technique Bloom (hana-saki, flower-bloom) which grants the ability to bloom flora. He takes the form of a monkey playing a shō and is one of three monkeys that collectively are known as Hanagami (Flower God) and the Celestial Brush Technique Greenspout. He hid among the constellations to escape the evil of the world below but was revealed by the revival of a sapling within the depths of a cave by the slightest rays of light. He is one of the few original brush gods from Ōkami to return in Ōkamiden but his child is the ones who speaks to Chibiterasu.
The thirteen Celestial Brush Techniques are each a different brush stroke, mark, or symbol capable of controlling the time, elements, environment, ect as "good brush work has its own soul" and have taken on the form of one of the Chinese zodiac animals. They are born of and wielded by the sun goddess Amaterasu for whom they hold great respect as their ‘mother’. Anyone can use the Celestial Brush Techniques but years of practice are needed to master them unlike Amaterasu who is the only one known to have and been able to possess all thirteen techniques. A Celestial Brush Technique can be canceled out by drawing the same symbol over it.
They are one of the few original brush gods from Okami to return in Okamiden but there child is the one to speak to Chibi.
The three Hanagami may also represent the proverbial three monkeys of "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" (mizaru, kikazaru, iwazaru). Although both Sakigami and Hasugami play wind instruments and are theoretically unable to speak while playing, Sakigami is the only one whose vision is also blocked; by process of elimination, this leaves the loud cymbal-playing Tsutagami as the one who cannot hear.
