Malacath is a daedric prince whose sphere is the patronage of the spurned and ostracized, keeper of the sworn oath, and the bloody curse. He is not recognized as a daedric prince by his peers and calls ogres, orcs, and the like his ‘little brothers’. Malacath is depicted as a muscular Orc and favors orcs over all other races.
His realm is called Ashpit and is considered the hardest of the daedric realms to reach. It consists only of dust, palaces of smoke, and vaporous creatures and is filled with anguish, betrayal, and broken promises. Levitation and magical breathing are needed to survive in his realm. Malacath is possessive of anything seen as his and vindictive when felt wronged. Two artifacts are associated with Malacath:
Daedric Scourge: Summon dremora and scamp.
Volendrung Hammer: Absorbs stamina, drains health, and paralyzes.
The daedric prince’s enemy is Ebonarm and he is allied with Mephala. He is served by the hideous and stupid Ogrim.
In Daggerfall the player could end Malacath’s thirst for vengeance after killing a suitor who turned down his gifts.
In Morrowind he asks the player to kill a dunmer who stole all the fame and glory from an orc adventurer and although both had long been dead Malacath was so enraged he had the dunmer’s supposed only surviving descendant killed, although another in the Oreyn bloodline by the name of Modryn Oreyn lived in Cryrodill.
In Oblivion he sends the player to free enslaved ogres stating ogres should not be servants to anyone except Malacath.
