Areus is the cousin of Nemea, grandson of Balor, and son of Lugh Langaster and Letecia. His father and later his mother and adopted brother Elliot were killed by Balor due to a prophecy that fortells of his descendants killing him. Having been born to human and elven parents he was not fully accepted by either race due to the taboo nature of his birth. He mainly found solace near his home with his remaining family. Used to racism and rejection Areus became a loner and very cut off from people with only a few very close friends.
Areus never forgot his father's death, however, and swore vengeance. He has trained since childhood with his sword mentor, Darqin, and taps into his elven blood to harness magic. Areus would participate in the Liberdam arena to make ends-meet and eventually decides to enlist as a recruit within the Dyneskal military. By joining the enemy ranks, he would then capitalize an opportunity to get close to Balor. His two traveling companions, Dagda and Selene refuse to allow Areus to go alone.
Areus manages to kill Balor with a special sword with Dagda and Selene's help. Areus is then erased from existence and is faintly remembered as a legendary nameless hero. The only one who still has memories of him five years later is Nemea.
