User summary and from English Wikipedia:

Thalamus was a British game publisher during the 8-bit and 16-bit era.

Thalamus Ltd was created in 1986 as an in-house software publishing label of British magazine publisher Newsfield Publications Ltd, to take advantage of their leading position publishing computer game magazines, such as Crash and Zzap!64, during the mid-1980s. Ex-Activision PR Manager Andrew Wright was assigned the position of Company Director and Newsfield staff writer Gary Liddon was appointed Technical Executive. The company was initially based in Canonbury, North London, in an office shared with staff of Newsfield's newly launched lifestyle magazine LM.

Thalamus revolutionized the gaming scene for the Commodore 64 with groundbreaking shooters such as Sanxion and Delta, both being programmed by the Finnish programmer Stavros Fasoulas. The 360° shooter Hunter's Moon by Martin Walker, followed by the run'n'gun game Hawkeye, developped by "The Boys without Brains" and the spiritual sequel to Delta – Armalyte, developped by Cyberdyne Systems, made Thalamus famous for having a high-quality line of games.

The company stayed with the Commodore 64 in till its very end, releasing the game "Creatures 2 – Torture Trouble" in 1992, and "Nobby the Aardwark" in 1993. As the scene went into the 16-bit era, and development costs soared, Thalamus closed down its publishing, some of its remaining titles picked up by Eidos Interactive.
