Gamesproducer/David A. Palmer Productions has been involved in the development production and publishing of video games since 1981. In that period, over 250 titles!
Our original business was in Acoustics and Electronics, Palmer Acoustics Ltd, founded in 1977. During this period our speciality was in acoustics, working closely with TV, radio, movie and recording studios working as manufacturers of specialist audio products and manufacturers agents to such as AKG Acoustics, International Korea Electronic Corp (Inkel), at the time the largest electronics manufacturers outside of Japan.
From 1981 until 1986 alongside the acoustics business working as part of Alligata Software. This company was famous for producing some of the very earliest video games, including Acorn Atom, Sinclair Spectrum, C16, C64 and Amstrad. In 1986 from this came the division of P.A.L. Developments developing video games and subsequently renamed David A. Palmer Productions in 1993.
In 1986 David A. Palmer was one of the two founding directors of Alternative Software Ltd. The company achieved the position of Gallup's No 1 volume publisher in the UK in 1987 and had several top ten selling titles.
From 1988 under our original divisional name of PAL Developments we were contracted to develop 35 sku’s for Virgin Mastertronic, while at the same time our in house Advertising Agency re-targeted much of the branding for Virgin software activities.
In 1989 David A. Palmer founded Hi-Tec Software in order to foster the creative talents of the programmers and artists at P.A.L. Developments. Hi-Tec made their name by producing games featuring the world famous Looney Tunes and most of Hanna Barbera series, including Yogi Bear, Jetsons, Wacky Races, Speedy Gonzales, Taz Mania and Scooby Doo.
