The Game Awards is an annual awards ceremony honoring achievements in the video game industry. The ceremonies also feature the premieres of new titles and an in-depth look at previously announced games.

Controversy:

Despite holding a public vote on nominees, the Game Awards has maintained they have final say on awards and will change the winner if they do not agree with the public's choice. Many have noted it is in the Game Awards best interest to protect triple A games and to maintain a good relationship with large publishers.
