My parents immigrated from The Netherlands before I was born. Whenever they returned from their occasional visits back to "de old country", they would bring us kids volumes from the Tintin series. We LOVED these books. I remember pouring over each amazing drawing and laughing again & again at the fantastic humor in these pages.
I had the delight of reading them again, out loud (over & over) to my daughter when she was younger.
A close second would be Prince Valiant
I did not own any of these comics but I would get them from the library and delight in the pictures and high chivalry shown in these epic adventures.
This. While I had lots of favorites, this was top of the list. Bought a bootleg copy of all the episodes on a dozen or so dvd's. I was surprised to find out the series only lasted a couple of years as it seemed I watched for many many years.
Battle of the Planets is still one of my fave's. Managed to get them all on DVD at a reasonable price recently, can't believe how expensive they still are! Probably my earliest recollection of anime/manga.
