VGG Game-A-Day 2014 Game Drive Metalist
- Todd LazureCanada
This submission drive is intended not only to push the total number of Video Game entries in the database, but to also add social aspects to the game entry submission process.
Please note: Game-A-Day 2014 Submissions will be effective starting February 1st, 2014.
Participation in Game-A-Day is easy:
- Create a Geeklist for yourself to keep track of your game entries.
- Post a link to your Geeklist here as an item of your choosing.
- Subscribe or Pin this Geeklist for updates and statistics.
- Start submitting!
How should you keep track of your game submissions? In order for your entries to be counted for Game-A-Day prizes, you should post each submission to your Game-A-Day Geeklist on the date of entry, with the following basic information:
- The date of the submission (or, if post-dating/past-dating, the date intended)
- The name of the game entered
- Number of versions submitted (for statistical purposes)
- Genres you included (for statistical purposes)
Of course, feel free to include as much information as you like in your entry beyond this.
On the 15th of every month, I will tally up the submissions in all Geeklists linked here that occurred over the previous month and post a series of statistics, as well as hand out prizes to the top submitters that month.
You may submit games for dates in the past or future (past-dating and post-dating respectively), but for future submissions you are only permitted to post up to one month ahead (so, thirty or so entries) in order those submissions to be eligible for the monthly GG prizes. You may past-date as far back as you like, but in order to qualify for the monthly rewards and statistics your post must be made before the 15th of the next month. These entries will still be considered for yearly prizes and statistics. This way, even if you join the party late, you can still get in on the fun!
Participants may submit as frequently as they like. However, the three categories for statistics, leaderboards, and prizes will be Game-A-Day, Three-A-Week, and Game-A-Week. You do not have to specify which tier you are aiming for; rather, your monthly submission count will automatically be considered for the highest tier you qualify for. For example, if you start off as a Game-A-Week poster but are especially productive this June with a total of 24 entries, you'll be considered a Three-A-Week poster for statistical purposes (just short of Game-A-Day!).
