This happened to me yesterday and gave me the idea for the list.
I was working as a chef at a restaurant and having a bad day, until a ticket came out where the order number matched the table number and the dollar value of the cost! I saw that the three numbers were the same and became happier for no reason I can articulate.
There was a coffee shop I used to visit before work. They were locally owned and operated (not a franchise like Starbucks or Timmies). They would bake muffins in house, fresh every day. Random selection. If I went in and they had orange chocolate chip available, it would make my day. Om nom nom nom.
I was 13 and just had a terrible day at school, but it was over so I whistled as I walked to my Mom's shop. I stepped across the street from said school to go into a comic book shop, but never made it. A sparrow sat on the security grating of a store. I touched its back and it jumped onto my wide belt, holding on with feet at either end. I was shocked. (BTW, I am obsessed with birds and have always had a deep love for all Avian species.) I decided to not enter the comic shop, but walk -- very slowly -- with my new friend in tow. We made it across three side streets and a wide boulevard, then to the door to Mom's. The bird remained stationary all this time, though chirping. Once I opened the door, the thing flew off.
This was the most amazing experience in my life. Whenever I think of it I cannot help but smile.
