BGG WARGAME Chain of Generosity
Wargamers Paying It Forward. It has suffered though by being first come first win, so many people get left out because they aren't fast on the trigger. The other issue has been people taking game without having something of equal or greater value to give back. That is important on these chains. If you are here to just get a freebie and not give back in the spirit of generosity then move along.
Here are the rules, blatantly copied, with some alterations, from the Original BGG Chain of Generosity:
Here's how the BGG Chain of Generosity (The Chain) works:
Step 1: A user (ME) seeds a giveaway chain with a game or combination of games. Other people may comment, "I'm in.", the item in order to enter to win it. After a week or two, a winner is drawn randomly from the entrants.
Step 2: The recipient of the game will then choose a game from their collection (probably from their trade list) and post it as an item on the geeklist for more people (or maybe the same people) to comment on and enter to win in a similar fashion.. After a few days or a week (this can vary) they will do a drawing, and someone else will win the game.
Step 3: The new recipient repeats step 2, Lather, rinse, repeat.
1. You must comment to the item in question, indicating you wish to be in the drawing to receive it, in order to be eligible to win.
2. If you win one, you MUST post a game of your own to give away in the same fashion. If you don't like that idea, don't play.
3. In the unlikely event that nobody enters to win your game by 48 hours after posting, try a different game in its place.
4. Sender pays shipping, unless he indicates in his entry that the recipient will, and under what grounds (International shipping, etc). Anyone signing up to receive an item where recipient pays shipping agrees to do so.
The game you post should be one that most of the wargame community might want to have. Ideally, one on your trade list. The dual-purpose of this list is to spread goodwill and give unwanted games a good home.
Added- The list is a generosity list. Please be generous. Try and match the value of the item you received when choosing which game to give away. I really want to keep up the values of items being given away.
You can win multiple times. Just keep in mind each time you win a game you'll be giving another one away.
This is an international list. If you participate you agree to ship internationally, although you can require the winner to pay for shipping. Please state your shipping conditions in the listing.
