Friday at Mr Sweets, we debuted my Battlestations: Firefly variant with a Training Mission to test the new crew's flying abilty (among other things).
The crew of the "New Horizon": Conrad Twitty, Medic(Scientist) (Matt N) Hunter Caine, Soldier (Matt N) Acting Captain Connor Malone, Pilot (Nick M) Jacob Jacobson, Gunner (Nick M) Duke Brunson, Mechanic (Engineer)(Robbie O) Lucy Limms, Companion(Pilot) (Robbie O) Jackson Wei, Engineer (Steve H) Harlow Keitherton, Shepherd(Scientist) (Steve H)
They ran thru "BOOT CAMP" (Core Book Mission) with a few mods: Their ship is a Size 5 modified Firefly-class transport. The Derelict ship was an old, decommissioned Alliance freighter (modified). The Cortex Signal Relay Satellites were disguised Missile Platforms.
They dropped out of Full Burn near a dead world, flew a bit to get bearings, were attacked by missiles galore (one bad hit, another minor hit, otherwise nice dodging), launched their shuttle, boarded the derelict, took out the derelict's onboard Auto-Defense Systems, hacked the Main Engine Computer, moved it away from the planet, and jumped both ships to Full Burn back home. Three characters fell, but were revived in time. Not a bad day's work.
Saturday I ran the 2nd Session of my new 5E campaign. We finished the underwater portion of their adventure, exploring two shipwrecks, seeing ghosts, battling the Undead Pirate Queen, confronting their Captain, and a final showdown with the Were-Eel Monster.
Great fun. And another young convert to the game (Kyler's soccer teammate stayed overnight and joined us). Mwah-hah-hah.
