I wish I'd had last week's list as this would have fitted much better: Room 101 being a TV show (named after George Orwell's famous torture facility) in which people nominate things to be permanently removed from the universe, others voting on whether they agree or not.

I thought this would be a fun thing to do; I'm not sure whether it's possible to set up a poll in a GL item, so we might have to vote in comments.

So, the first item is to nominate something - person, idea, object etc which you wish didn't exist or should be eliminated.

Secondly, which game do you wish had never been produced? Maybe because the experience of playing it seared your soul, or because it sucked you into unwittingly wasting vast amounts of time.

Ok, what is one thing I would like to get rid of? Without drifting off to the realms of RSP? That's quite a limitation here... I will just go with a spontaneous thought here and say: Card sleeves. I do buy used games, and sometimes cards are in sleeves. To me, it makes a game hard to enjoy. I'd rip them away, but a), it takes too long if there are many cards, and b) I need to play at least once to know whether I would like to resell the game, and if I do the latter, the sleeves won't hurt.
So: Begone, card sleeves!

A thin week for me. Just

Mr Jack x 2(who escaped on turn 2 in the first game, due to me failing to realise I should have kept Miss Stealthy under observation!)
Carcassonne x 1
Pocket Battles x 1
Battlelore x 1
Balloon Cup x 1
Race for the Galaxy x 1

+ Incan Gold, Ave Caesar and the inevitable Apples to Apples at the games club.

Ah, my plays:
3 x Duck-A-Roo
1 x Diamant
1 x Dirty Pig
1 x Unpublished Prototype

Some plays with my kids on Friday after my "final" (?) discharge, and a remarkable encounter on Saturday, when we went to a family gathering (about 40 descendants of my grandparents, including the various SOs) up north. I saw five people sitting on a picknick blanket playing a game I had never seen before. I watched for a while before finding out that my oldest cousin's son (who is 24 already and whom I had last met ten years ago) had designed it and had three rather professionally looking prototypes printed. I started drooling and had a chance to play it later, and was quite impressed. Short ruleset, 30 minutes playtime with 5 players, original balancing mechanism - this game was quite well developed already. A prototype has already been requested by a well-known publisher, and I can only keep my fingers crossed. So my return into the adult gaming world started with a very pleasant surprise.

You can view my week in greater detail here: Item for Geeklist "What Did You Play Last Week? 6/15/2015"

Lots of Tableau building games this week!

Race for the Galaxy x 2 = finally got my first win in this game!
Roll for the Galaxy x 2

Both of these are quickly becoming group favorites!

San Juan x 1 = my highlight game of the week for this list since I finally got my daughter to play with me again!
Xia: Legends of a Drift System x 1 = We found out that a 5P game of this can be LOONNGG...
Agricola x 1 = finally getting the gang to get used to this game!
Deus x 1 = also got my first win!
Imperial Settlers x 1
Guildhall x 1 = will probably be scaling back from the Mega Variant in the future
Seasons x 1

The children were quite tired this weekend after a busy week at school, so were not at all interested in playing games. Instead I played with my husband and cousin, and we played quite a few over the week. My friend also remembered she was supposed to come to me for gaming on Monday afternoon (she forgot the week before!), and we managed to play quite a few games that day too.

14 x Magic the Gathering
4 x Star Realms
3 x Race for the Galaxy
2 x Splendor

1 x Agricola, Alchemists, Augustus, Boggle, Core Worlds, Egizia, Gnadenlos, High Society, Kingsburg, Abluxxen, Lost Cities, Lunar Rails, Macao, Mahjong, P.I., Power Grid, Schotten-Totten, Terra Mystica, Thunderstone (Doomgate Legion expansion)

I hesitate to use the same headline game two weeks in a row, but in a comparatively light gaming week, there is one game (well, set of games) that has stood out, and that is the tin full of dice that is 6. I just have one of the games yet to play, but all of the ones so far have been enjoyable.

Played with Miss B...
7   6 x4 - a play of Triangles and three of the really neat Dicey Winks, which is definitely one of the favourites here.
7   Spot it! x2 - we're now nearly done with this in our 10x10 challenge.
7   Chess - not played this for quite a long time, but Miss B is really starting to "feel" the game (she's been reading a book, and is getting better at spotting forks and the like).
7   Darjeeling - Was a bit more stressful than last time we played, but still a really nice game.
7   Timeline: Discoveries - back to our original Timeline set after a few plays of a different one.
N/A   M80 - just arrived Kickstarter game; very light, and more fun than I was expecting.
And a play of Coin Football, which isn't in the database, given that it is just an old school game of sliding coins on a table. Miss B loves it though.

With adults...
N/A   Rome - We played Imperium this time; that's two of the three Rome games that I have played and thoroughly enjoyed both.
7   SafeBreaker - very light social deduction game that went down well for a quick lunchtime filler.

Hmm, interesting, lots of 7's. I guess that most of the games I quite like sit at 7, so I'm usually going to end up playing most of them, and may not be able to get the higher rated games to the table as often for various reasons.

This was the week that Android: Netrunner passed Race for the Galaxy as our family's most played game. It took Race about two years of dogged pursuit to catch Dominion, which had about a year head-start in our home. It took Netrunner (which is a just-slightly longer game than Race) only a few months to overtake Race.

I'm hosting a Netrunner tourney for beginners, for family and friends, this coming weekend. It will be a little practice for me, as I'm going to be running a much larger Netrunner tournament at PrezCon next winter. We will see how Saturday goes. Hopefully a lot of fun for everyone.

BUT. Game-of-the-Week has to go to Castles of Burgundy, as we played this on Tuesday evening with fellow Beehive member Clay
