Here are seven (...maybe more?) fantastic ... and - why not, semi-serious and sexy - tools that could prove really useful for any board game collector.

[space to create even more suspence]
[some other space to make you think about the purple cow]
[now playing elevator music]

This list is presented to you in shades of blue, tortoise and emerald.
As the list is open, add items accordingly to this color code.
And please, append mobile apps in comments, as the tools are intended to be used in browser along with an open window of BGG.

In the meantime, something about the author(s): Charlotte is a straw hatted witch and asked a game with Mices and Mystics; Domitilla is the voice of Kiki and Ursula when delivering and servicing; Francesco is newborn, so he has nothing to say so far; Marco is frequently sent to Coventry and likes to be the white stripes in the background of photographs.

Update: thank you to all the people tipping! As Charlotte's birtday is on 6th January, I am betting the proceedings from this GeekList on GG4G Christmas Lottery. A special blessing in particular to these users:

1) Want to buy games in your whishlist at the cheapest price?

http://bggauctions.workingasintended.com

It... works as intended.
Also, as stated by the game placeholder for this first entry, this is from Motley Fool, a great financial website that my husband Marco speaks a lot about, so visit it: www.fool.co.uk . Maybe your personal finance will go better.

2) How much is exactly "cheap" for a game? To define it, here you could find a price history.

http://www.spielboy.com/

Nevertheless, if you are looking for the most "cheapness" here on BGG (and no: this is not a compliment), try to ask in GeekQuestions something like "How do I get GeekGold?" (mind the question mark, it is deemed mandatory).
You will be then eligible for a free medal, to display with pride: the poor beggar microbadge.

3) After buying a game, you have to play it (my personal crusade: please, don't preserve it NIS (as some geeks love to say, for New In Shrink]: it is always a good occasion to unpunch what you think has to be forever unpunched): find players around you!

https://boardgamegeek.com/findgamers.php?action=findclosestf...

You could also play it online (look in the forums for PBE: play by email, or PBF: play by forum), but several studies confirm that finding people in flesh and bones near you works better (or you will be awarded the "forever alone" GeekBadge... by ME. It hurts to read all those 663+ people playing solo: https://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/182648/2014-peoples-c...).

As games are supposed to work as a friendship facilitator maybe... you will find love! And this takes us to the next point in this list.

Post scriptum: we girls like to be (gently) unwrapped, lesson learnt!

4) If you are looking for your sweet-half (or simply, for the right kind of people to play with), our great community members offer a matching tool: how much you have in common with another BGG user?

http://draedghawl.shalom.craimer.org/
http://korttipeliopas.fi/korttipelit/bgg/ (sometimes not working)

Test your flavors against members of the other sex!
Advice: this is not intended to operate as a trustworthy love meter.

5) If you are a regular contributor, you surely have much GeekGold to spend.
Want to try the luck in exchanging Geek Gold for a real game (GG4G)?
You could find here your odds to win.

http://g4gg.shalom.craimer.org/
http://g4gg.shalom.craimer.org/stats.php

Then, after experiencing how this community spreads the love, why not organize a giveaway by yourself?
There is an automated system to choose univocally the winner (our beloved Shalom Craimer Corporation sponsors this entry): https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/903983/scraimers-drawing-to....

This little darn piece of code posts on your behalf the resulting winner, so you can't cheat, and can be downloaded and easily operated from here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6240410/GamesForGeekGoldDrawingsHel...

Another two cents from the author: if you have some GeekGold to spare, please consider giving it to Me, so:
1) I will buy "avatars" for people that do not have one (as a great guy had done with me, the third day I was here)
2) I will craft a "forever alone" GeekBadge, offering it for free (psychological support from girl to guy via Private Message included in the service)
3) as I am member of the Society of Losers (https://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/149308/society-losers) I will spend it by myself on GG4G... obviously without winning nothing ( -_______- )

6) If you are a collector, you probably settle to buy a game only after viewing a nice photo of all its components. Here is the unboxing of the first 600 items (actually 636) in BGG rankings:

https://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/63290/jenks-labour-lo...?

Then calculate here how much your collection is worth:

http://bggtools.com/

Thanks to this tool, I am now aware about why I have not repainted my apartment or bought a new car.

7) People devoted to the hobby could find here a lightning fast way to get a printed menu for an elegant gaming evening/dinner (just set your username and insert blank paper!).

People new to the hobby will be steered by means of useful starting points: top games of all time, most played games of the past week, or games that have won a Golden Geek award.

http://boardgamemenu.com/

This web service sums up the first and most useful way one could use BGG: as an advice to buy the best games.

My suggestion: give a shot also at less-renowed titles, and click on the banner of some offbeat KickStarter projects. Support the community, the industry and the market!

Post scriptum: Eclipse was the game that made me register on BGG, and I have not managed yet to buy it: https://boardgamegeek.com/article/21039141#21039141

?) Bonus entry: just a step under the skillz of a community admin, there is the ability to delve into Math Trades (https://boardgamegeek.com/wiki/page/Math_Trades)!

They are a way to exchange games between a whole bunch of people at once. Simply, you put into the trade the game you want to discard (games you want to own are ordered by your wishlist, so maintain it uncluttered!): at the close, an automatic system decides who should send their game to whom, maximizing the happiness.

Wait, what?!
Everyone wins? Because of the algorithm used, you can only get a game you prefer over what you started with, or at worst you may just keep your original game - and don't trade (actually: you don't have to pack and send anything... try your luck subscribing to the Society of Losers).

?) Antoher bonus entry: you have now an extensive knowledge (or collection!) of games, and just can't decide what to try next, or borrow from a friend, or search for on BGG, or play in a game night.

This tool comes in handy:
https://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/70179/optimum-game-se...

In a point-and-click style, games are suggested starting from number of players, then category, and finally lenght of session.

Example: Two players? Go there, clicking on "2". Strategy? Click to "14". Heavy? Go to "80". And suggestion are also improved by BGG users in comments for every entry.

If you enjoy logging plays of your games, the SPLU Logging Tool can be saved as a bookmark into your favorite browser, on any device, and used to quickly and easily enter your plays into the BGG database.

I prefer it over some of the dedicated apps because it is cross platform and works anywhere - I can use the exact same tool on my desktop as my phone.
