Back by request, it's time for another Austin No-Ship Math Trade.

If you aren't familiar with how math trades work, start here and read as much as necessary. Still have questions? Ask in the comments or in the Austin Game Traders group on Facebook.

Key Dates
Game Submissions Open: Now!

%Options%
Deadline-Offers: Monday, January 18th, 2016, 8:00 AM CDT
Deadline-Wants: Monday, January 25th, 2016, 8:00 AM CDT
%End%

A The word of the trade moderator (me) is final.

B Use the Facebook group for discussions and requests. I'll lock this geek list after the offer deadline so you won't be able to edit anything further or post questions.

C Citizens of Austin and the surrounding area are welcome to participate, but this is a no-ship math trade. You must be able to meet in person in Austin to give and receive games.

D Only submit items that you have in your possession. If something you list trades, you are expected to provide it to the recipient in the stated condition, or find/buy a replacement in the same or better condition. Yes, that means you might need to buy a new copy of the game to trade away if you let your dog eat your old one.

E Accurately and thoroughly describe the condition, language, and description of your items in each Geeklist entry, including missing components and the box itself. Yes, this means you need to inventory opened games.

F You are permitted to list board games, RPG items, video games, LEGO, and geek gold. Please, only include items legal for minors to buy and sell in Texas. Cash and gift certificates are not allowed.

G If you edit an entry, it can only be to clarify the entry (i.e. list the edition) or make it better (i.e. add a sweetener). If you need to downgrade an entry, make a new entry and submit a blank want list for the old one. Limiting the area where you will travel to deliver a game is a downgrade; see rule J. This rule helps prevent situations where someone added your original entry to their want list, but doesn't want the downgraded item; see rule D.

H Arbitrage (trading geek gold for geek gold, trying to make a profit) is prohibited. I will delete your wants and rerun the trade without them to fix this.

I Use of the On-Line Want List Generator is mandatory. If you have questions about how to use it, ask in the Facebook group and you'll get help!

J Include the areas of town where you are willing to meet in your item descriptions. If someone will not meet you within the area where you are willing to travel, do not put their items on your want list! You will be responsible for arranging times to meet and trade items, though the community might arrange group times for certain areas of town (i.e. Tribe one Tuesday for South Austin, Great Hall Games the next Friday for Central Austin, etc.). If you fail to restrict your travel area in your item description, expect to need to travel across town to meet up with someone and give them your game.

Q&A

How do math trades works?
Here's a few good introductions to math trades:
Math Trade Guide
Math Trades for Dummies

Hmm, that doesn't make sense. Can you explain math trades again?
Sure. Post your questions in the Facebook group and someone will help you.

Okay, I still don't get it.
Maybe just list your items in the Facebook group for a regular trade.

What software will be used?
I'll use Trade Maximizer version 1.4, seed 78756, with 250 iterations for users-trading. I think there's a newer version floating around that does parallel processing of multiple iterations while still preserving repeatability; if I can find that one, I'll see if it yields the same results and use it.

In Sutter's Mill the players experience the sudden rise and decline of the Californian town of Coloma during the gold rush.

They first build up the town, bring new citizens into it, and, last but not least, dig gold. However, when it is time and the gold vein is almost spent, they better take their belongings and get the hell out of Coloma!

In the game, this is represented by a division in two phases: build up followed by tear down. At the beginning of the game, all players start in the build up phase. It is up to the players themselves to decide when there's no more profit to be had and to enter the tear down phase. Each player makes this choice for himself, so while some players are already tearing down the place, others will still be building up.
