This list is now CLOSED.
Please use the European Sellers Auction Geeklist: March 2016

Rules Summary:
Detailed rules available here. *

A1. You must be shipping from Europe to add an item here.

A2. You must be prepared to ship anywhere in Europe to add an item here.

B1. The buyer pays shipping costs; buyers may be from anywhere

B2. Please remember that Europe is not just the EU. Please quote shipping costs that include non-EU countries as well (e.g. Norway, Switzerland**)

B3: Please take the trouble either to quote accurate shipping costs to European destinations, or provide an accurate packed weight for each item so that people can look up rates** with reasonable confidence. Please do not just say e.g. "Ask for shipping costs to 'other destinations'"

C. All sales MUST be completed through the BGG marketplace (and thus pay 3% commission to BGG)

D1. You may and should set your own closing dates for your items. Unless otherwise specified Auctions end 7 days after they are begun (e.g. one started on the 20th ends on the 26th) at a random time to deter sniping.

D2. When you close an item, please edit the item itself with 'strikethrough' and a "closed & sold" or "closed & unsold" comment.

D3. You may re-open a closed item at any time (e.g. after an MT has concluded). Just remove the 'strikethrough' and 'closed' comment. Please keep the item closed here for the duration of the MT it is offered in.

E. Please leave all content in your posts, if you wish to remove items, or information, please use strikethrough on that and add an EDIT if necessary. This makes it easier for me, and others, to see what you have changed.

F. If you receive an offer elsewhere for a listed item which has already received a bid whether or not it meets any reserve please update your listing accordingly to allow others a 24hr opportunity to beat that offer: please do not just withdraw the item. Alternatively, ask your buyer to participate in the auction.

*This just makes the header smaller on each page!

** You can find a Guide to shipping costs from European countries here

E A "Wishlist" is here. Add to it if you'd like to see something offered.

E The "Discussion Thread" is here

E You can subscribe here European Auctions Announcements and/or here Metalist for Geeklist Auctions Announcements to be notified when this auction list is run.

E This Auction Aggregator is a useful tool in some circumstances. Give it time to refresh when filtering by your collection.

RULES:

1a. You must be shipping from Europe (see image opposite) to add an item here.

1b. You must be prepared to ship anywhere in Europe (EU, EFTA, EEA, EUCU)* to add an item here.

1c. You may offer items for shipment outwith Europe; you do not have to.

2a. The buyer pays shipping costs; buyers may be from anywhere.

2b. Please remember that Europe is not just the EU. Please quote shipping costs that include non-EU European countries as well (e.g. Norway, Switzerland**)

2c. Please take the trouble either to quote accurate shipping costs to European destinations, or provide an accurate packed weight for each item so that people can look up rates** with reasonable confidence. Please do not just say e.g. "Ask for shipping costs to 'other destinations'"

2d. Sellers may specify additional payment terms, selling conditions or delivery restrictions on sales for delivery outwith Europe.

3. All sales MUST be completed through the BGG marketplace (and thus pay 3% commission to BGG)

4a. Shipping will be at cost. Include any packing and handling costs in your item price. Sellers must be prepared to combine shipments if a buyer wins more than one item.

4b. Unless specifically mentioned to the contrary, the only insurance offered by default is the default provided by the carrier as part of the service selected. E.g. Royal Mail offer compensation to £20 included in their prices.

4c. If either the buyer or seller wishes to insure the shipment, this should be discussed and agreed between them.

5. Unless obvious, listing must specifically mention the following:

» Condition (game, completeness, box, rules)
» Language (and language dependency level if appropriate)
» Starting price and any soft/hard reserves, BINs or other similar bidding conditions
» Expected shipping cost within their country and to the rest of Europe (if different); free collection arrangements (if any).
» Currency of bids, and exchange rate if not listed in € or £ (£1 = Edit: €1,37 ish at Feb 28, 2014 ). GG is an acceptable currency.
» Closing date. Auctions should close at a random time on the closing date. An auction may be re-opened at any time after it is closed.

6a. Sellers MUST specify who will pay transaction costs (e.g. Paypal fees). Currently the default (if nothing is said) is that the the seller will absorb these costs: this is not mandatory, but it must be made very clear if it is not the case.

6b. Payment may be made by any means agreed between seller and buyer.

6c. Please work together to minimise the transaction costs using e.g. gift certificates, bank transfers and suchlike, but take care to protect your interests.

7a. Do not leave an auction open while an item is on offer in e.g. a Maths Trade. Close the item (if no bid has been made) and re-open it after the MT has closed.

7b. An item with a bid which matches or exceeds any declared reserve (or starting price if there is no reserve) must not be closed without being sold to the highest bidder

7c. If you receive an offer elsewhere for a listed item which has already received a bid whether or not it meets any reserve please update your listing accordingly to allow others a 24hr opportunity to beat that offer: please do not just withdraw the item. Alternatively, ask your buyer to participate in the auction.

8a. When closing an auction (sold or unsold) the seller must use 'strikethrough' [ - ][ /- ] on the item text (in addition to or instead of any item comment) and add descriptive text such as "Closed Unsold" or "Closed - Sold to [ user ]" preferably in a large text.

8b. The seller should GM the winner, or - better - use the "Quick marketplace Listing" button to populate the marketplace and GM the winner automatically.

9. Please leave all content in your posts, if you wish to remove items, or information, please use strikethrough on that and add an EDIT if necessary. This makes it easier for me, and others, to see what you have changed.

10. By all means link your own Auction Geeklists here. This is especially useful if you have a large number of items to list as it is easier for you to manage them in your own list.
10. Please do not sell here, there is a forum for that.

General discussion of this list, or these lists in general (like how they could be improved) should be posted on the Discussion Thread and NOT in the comments section (so that subscribing is useful).

Discussion/questions specific to an item may be either in the item or the discussion thread, whichever is more appropriate.

This might be of interest to some of you - especially those in the Manchester area, but who knows, you may have a friend nearby to put in bids for you!

https://boardgamegeek.com/article/21477180#21477180

It's an annual games auction - lots of both Euro and wargames, around 500 altogether, in a scout hut packed with gamers. Well worth a shot, there are bargains to be had!

Lewis - hope this item is appropriate for this geeklist!
