My backlog has blossomed in the last three years from trivial to enormous (thanks, Steam!), and I'd like to have a visual way to track that. I kind of obsess over the quantity of games I have that are doing naught but collecting dust, and am trying to curtail the amount I'm wasting on games I don't play. I was impressed by Kristof's and Cylonathalf's backlog lists - seems like a cool idea - so I thought I'd make one of my own.Recommend
Right now, there's just over 150 games, and my goal is to shrink that - I'd like a five played/ one new game ratio until I get down to 100, and then I'll drop that to about 2-to-1. That's the goal.
The criteria for what counts as "backlog" is subjective. Roughly, I'd say games I own but haven't played much or any of are included, unless I don't think I want to play them and got them incidentally somehow (games I've gotten in bundles or collections - stuff like Comix Zone, for example). I'm pretty ambivalent on some of these games, but I'll list them here, to be checked out and beaten or discarded.
I'm posting these items in order from oldest to newest.
This list is written to graphically represent and to help me remember games I've bought, in order to both reminisce and to prevent unnecessary purchases in the future. It's mostly written for me as the audience, is what I'm saying. However, you're welcome to add comments/ make suggestions, and it's highly likely that such comments or suggestions will impact what and when I play any of these (but not guaranteed, and the impact... might not be what you intend).
