Rules

Be a Good Chap.

Similar to Wheaton's Law.

The Good Chap's code:
- We're all good chaps, so behave.
- We're friendly, honest and err on the side of being good to each other.
- If we make mistakes we own up, apologize and make good as far as possible.
- We treat others as we'd want to be treated.
- We're here to play boardgames and have spiffing fun, this lottery is just another way of extending this fun by getting more excellent games to fabulous people.
- If you feel wronged or suspicious, please contact Games 4 GeekGold. Usually, one of the gAdminions already knows about it and can fill you in on all the details. If not, they will contact the users and mediate the dispute. Please refrain from making public accusations. Feel free to ask about anything!

How to join the drawing on items
1. If you see an item you like, double-check that the item can be sent to your country and that you accept the shipping costs. If you still like the item, click on the icon next to that entry, and tip it some geekgold. To tip 10, tip 5 twice. To tip more than 10, double check that you really want to tip this item, then click where it says "Other Amount with message". Enter the amount, leave the message area blank, and click "Submit".
2. Sometimes you'll see an item that you really want which isn't shipped to your location, or which doesn't have free shipping. Bear in mind that postage isn't cheap, and don't ask that the lister pay for it.
3. The gAdminions will suggest a trade between two users if they've both placed more than half of the tips on the other's posted item. Refunds will be given to the rest of the users who had placed tips on those two items. You may report such cases to a gAdminion when the draw date grows near.

Rules for listing and drawing items
If you wish to list an item please read the rules and guidelines in Games for Geekgold Rules before posting a new item. The rules are there to protect both the lister and the entrants, so please read them carefully.

1ST BONUS LEVEL REACHED, 2 PRIZES TO BE AWARDED!

TWENTY FIVE RANDOM THINGS ABOUT ME?!?

Boy, would that ever be boring.... How about a choice from 25 nearly random games instead!

Board Game: Sobek

Sobek -- Bruno Cathala's marvelously clever card game; each turn you choose to either take a goods card, play a character card with a special power, or lay down a set of matching goods to earn a profit, but be careful not to be exposed as the most corrupt merchant!

Board Game: Martian Dice

Martian Dice -- humorous dice game with a little more depth than Zombie Dice; players are Martians trying to abduct chickens, cows, or humans.

Board Game: Bananagrams

Bananagrams -- a quick playing crossword type game with fantastic resin tiles in a nifty travel bag.

Board Game: Zip-It

Zip-It -- fast action 2-player letter dice game with great dice in a travel bag that is also the scorepad.

Board Game: Qwixx

Qwixx -- one of the absolute best casual/filler games around, and doubly good because all players are active during every turn. (This copy as new.)

Board Game: IOTA

iota -- "the great big game in the teeny weeny tin", players lay square cards into a grid in Qwirkle-ish fashion. (This copy gently used.)

Board Game: Monopoly Deal Card Game

Monopoly Deal Card Game -- now that the eBay speculation bubble on these has well and truly popped, I can offer a copy. It's really a fine set collection and card fight game on its own, with only a vague thematic tie to the board game. (This copy new.)

Board Game: Cheaty Mages!

Cheaty Mages! -- great art in this cool card game; players are wizards betting on hand-to-hand combat while trying not to get caught cheating by casting spells on the fighters.

Board Game: Kahuna

Kahuna -- I have an extra copy of this superb 2-player game; players place bridges between islands to influence and claim those islands.

Board Game: Black Sheep

Black Sheep -- one of Reiner Knizia's less well known gems; if the cow on the cover looks familiar, it will come to you in a minute.... (This copy new.)

Board Game: Quests of the Round Table

Quests of the Round Table -- players are Arthurian knights going on quests and jousting in tournaments; in many ways this game laid the foundation for many non-traditional card games that followed! (see pic in comments though.)

Board Game: GoLong Football Dice Game

GoLong Football Dice Game -- football season is underway, here's a nifty casual dice game to play during halftime.

Board Game: Hawken: Real-Time Card Game – Scout vs. Grenadier

Hawken: Real-Time Card Game -- speedy real time combat game, based on a video game I guess; choose either Sharpshooter vs Bruiser or Scout vs Grenadier, I have one of each.

Board Game: Clue Express

Clue Express -- not just one of the better members of the entire Clue family, but a fine little deduction game on its own, with a small footprint in play. Comes in cool take-along pod.

Board Game: Monopoly Express

Monopoly Express -- pretend it doesn't even say Monopoly.... a great casual dice game that has little to do with the board game, also in a cool take-along pod.

Board Game: Yamslam

Yamslam -- Yahtzee to the next clever level! A miscommunication on eBay resulted in me having an extra copy of the spiffy travel version of this; it's unwrapped but never played.

Board Game: Maximum Throwdown

Maximum Throwdown -- here's something you don't see everyday, a dexterity card game. This copy looks unplayed; it came in a larger eBay deal, and I haven't played it.

Board Game: Hundred Days Battles

Hundred Days Battles -- the classic small wargame from Avalon Hill, unpunched and unplayed.

Board Game: Shuttles

Shuttles -- an ingenious little abstract, in travel version as shown, great game for cafe or pub play. Box has a little honest wear (that's it in the image), but the bits are as new.

Board Game: Knights of Ten

Knights of Ten -- the imaginative trick taking card game, never played, cards sealed.

Board Game: Cranium Zigity

Cranium Zigity -- the terrific family card game, or for game groups that like to have a lot of fun! A version in the tin case, new and sealed.

Board Game: Pass the Pigs

Pass the Pigs -- the crazy dice game with little hogs for dice, this is the version with the plastic storage/carrying case.

Board Game: Tashkent Domino

Tashkent Domino -- the exceptionally clever dice placement game, great for cafe or restaurant play. New in shrinkwrap.

Board Game: Mad QUAO

Mad QUAO -- wacky card game, new in shrink.

Board Game: Pit

Pit -- for 3-8 loud, laughing players! If only real commodities trading were this much fun....

Per the results of my poll showing quite decisively that a majority of people would prefer multiple winners rather than one winner getting multiple prizes, the winner of this listing gets to choose any game from the list.

If the total reaches 1000, a second winner will be drawn and will get to choose a remaining game from the list.

If the total reaches 1700, a third winner will be drawn and will get to choose a remaining game from the list.

If the total reaches 2200, a fourth winner will be drawn and will get to choose a remaining game from the list.

(That should cover things, but I'll adjust and add more if necessary.)

Here is the bonus structure for this listing:

1 = 1 ticket
5 = 7 tickets
25 = 40 tickets
100 = 200 tickets

Drawing to be held shortly after midnight EST, 30 NOV 2016. Free shipping in the US, no international shipping please.

[Edit: Bonus Level 1 unlocked, Bonus Level 3 added]

Edited to add newly found stones; see last photo.

I'm pretty jazzed to be offering these very special glass gems for customizing or prototyping, many of which are not like any I've seen before, and which I rescued specifically to offer to the fine fun folks here -- check out the photos!

Here's an introductory photo scientifically designed to arouse curiosity:

Those are normal size and shape stones in the center.... see the big one at the bottom? It's huge!

There are 6 of those included, the largest glass gems I've ever seen!

And see the two in the center? Here's one of them in the palm of my hand:

Wouldn't that be a terrific "first player" or "special powers" marker? There are two of those included, and they are shaped sort of like a rough cut diamond, though the broad surface is not flat, it's slightly curved.

Also in the mix are a large number of gorgeous blue stones that are oblong or bean shaped, which I'd never seen before:

You get a big pile of handsome green stones that are the usual shape but quite large (see first photo again for size comparison):

And to wrap it all up, there are a number of standard to slightly smaller size gems in several colors:

(That's not all of them, just a few sorted out for a photo.)

Here's the whole pile you can win, in all its radiant glory!

The total is well over 4 pounds of glass gems!

Edit to add more:

This is probably really foolish, I'm already losing huge on this listing, but I just found this sack of pearly white gems, so I may as well add them. Total is now nearly 6 pounds of glass gems.

Here is the bonus structure for this listing:

1 = 1 ticket
5 = 7 tickets
25 = 40 tickets
100 = 200 tickets

Not for the game in the title, but a shoot out all the same --

BANG! BANG! BANG! (BANG!)

Yes indeed, you can take a shot at winning 1 (or 2) of 4 different "Bang!" games!

In the process of decluttering Chez Gambit and pruning my game collection, I've decided to keep only one game from the "Bang!" family, so am offering all of these:

Board Game: BANG!

BANG! -- the standard and now-classic Western shootout game.

Board Game: BANG! Dodge City

BANG! Dodge City -- an expansion for "Bang!" that adds more powers as well as enabling play with 1 more or 1 fewer players.

Board Game: BANG!: The Walking Dead

BANG!: The Walking Dead -- Bang!-style play set in the TWD universe.

Board Game: Samurai Sword

Samurai Sword -- Bang!-style play set in feudal Japan!

Of these games, only original "Bang!" has been opened and possibly lightly played; the other three are all new and never played.

I'm going to use a blended approach to awarding prizes for this one listing, to allow for the possibility of the winner getting both "Bang!" *and* the "Dodge City" expansion.

If the total reaches 1000, the winner will also get to choose any second game from the list.

If the total reaches 1700, a second winner will be drawn and will get to choose a remaining game from the list.

If the total reaches 2300, a third winner will be drawn and will be awarded the fourth and final game from the list.

Here is the bonus structure for this listing:

1 = 1 ticket
5 = 7 tickets
25 = 40 tickets
100 = 200 tickets

100 = 200 entries

Edit: Hey, folks! So I've received word that several users were hoping I'd post images here of the item in question. Just to let you guys know that I don't actually have a copy at my home. What I'll be doing when the winner is announced is buying a NIS copy online (probably from the BGG Market, in fact) and providing the seller with the winner's shipping address. Simples! And expensive, but simples!!

Closed at 12,697 for the drawing. Thank you everyone for all the tips. This one has been a record for me.

Not for the game but for one or more games off your wishlist. That's right boys and girls, Santa is going to be early this year.

I'll pick a game(s) off your wishlist valued $50 or more and have it sent to you in time for Christmas (hopefully).

For every 1,000 tipped beyond 2,000 I'll add $10 to the amount spent on games going to you. So at 3,000 someone will get $60 worth of games, at 4,000 it will be $70, and so on up to $100 worth of games.

Edit #1 - Looks like I've been asleep - the tipping has passed 5,000 geekgold so we are up to $80 of games from your wishlist.

Edit #2 - Well that didn't take long. We are now at the max of $100 worth of games. Thanks everyone!

Tipping bonuses:
1 = 1 entry
10 = 15 entries
25 = 50 entries

Drawing will be November 30th.

Shipping will be free worldwide because Santa's elves are everywhere.

NOT FOR THE GAME PICTURED

This is a bit of an odd Lottery item, so please read carefully.

Your entries here will put you in a chance drawing to win a mystery prize package. The package will have an MSRP of at least $20, and include at least one game that I think you'd like. It may or may not also contain some other goodies, miscellaneous accessories, or drawings from my kids.

All GeekGold donated to this item will go to increase the total GeekGold being auctioned off in this Jack Vasel Memorial Fund Auction item: CLICK HERE

If you don't know, the Jack Vasel Memorial Fund is a non profit charity organization that helps out members of the board gaming community in times of need. Every year I coordinate and help run the JVMF Auction which is the major source of donations throughout the year. You can read more at JackVasel.org.

Last year the Auction raised over $72,000, and since then the Jack Vasel Memorial Fund has sent over $69,000 to boardgaming individuals and families in need. Every dollar matters!

In the spirit of charitable giving, I'm going to structure this item a little differently than typical G4GG items.

Bonus Structure:
1 = 1 entry

Entries will be capped at 1 entry per person. That means you can donate 1 and have the same amount of chances to win as everyone else. It means you can also bid 100 and only get one entry, and the same amount of chances to win as everyone else. If you head over to the JVMF auction item linked above (link to come), you will see there is another chance to win a gift package there as well, with the same criteria.

So, to be clear, any bid of more than 1 should be done solely to raise the total amount of we are auctioning off in the JVMF Auction. Last year between a G4GG item like this and the posting in the JVMF Auction, we gathered 7,549 which sold for $225!

Anyone who donates at least 50 to this auction item will also receive a Microbadge: Jack Vasel Memorial Fund auction participant - 2016 at the close of the auction as an acknowledgement of your contributions to the auction.

Shipping: Free worldwide.

I want to stress that whether you donate 1 to this item or 100 , you have my sincere gratitude!

Happy bidding donating, and if there are any questions or concerns, or if you want to know anything more about how you can help the JVMF, please let me know!

External image

THIS ENTRY WILL CLOSE AT MIDNIGHT CST ON NOV 14TH, the same time the JVMF auction closes.

Closed a bit early in anticipation of a busy auction close. Drawing now.
