Warframe - Still kickin it as a robot space ninja that beats suckas down with polearms. Playing with the same VGG crew as always.

Path of Exile - Slowly going through Act 2 on Merciless difficulty while balancing time with other games.

Vermintide - Having fun with Andy and Jan as we slice through the rat infestation.

Lara Croft - Guardian of Light - Playing through with Seth and having a blast.

Payday 2 - Downloaded this to see if I can play it again. The first thing I noticed is how much swearing there is, which I do not care for.

Obliteracers - Enjoying this wacky racer with Ken and Matt.

My warband is 51 strong now.

Thankfully, I turned off autosaving. I took a mission to herd cattle. I thought the place was only 3 towns over....no 3 Countries over.

And herding cattle sucks! I'm a knight not a cowboy. The cattle would take 1 step forward and like 5 back. It was terrible.

Reloaded and decided to never take a cattle herding job again.

In other news, I invested in grapes and cheese. I got them for cheap and knew of a couple cities that really love their grapes and cheese.... apparently my men and women, also like cheese and grapes, because they ate almost all of it! Eat the grain dang it. laugh

Note to self: Do not invest in cheese.

UPDATE #1:
Being a Swadian mercenary caught up to me. Swadians attack Velcuna, one of my favorite cities. They lost and caused me to be a wanted figure, because of my alliance.

I got captured in a side skirmish and lost all my troops.

Hoping to reload and flee the area, since the count that called on my aid is FOOL!

UPDATE #2:

Return to Velcuna. I helped a different Swadian lord siege the city. Climbed up the ladder and began slashing and slashing and slashing, some blocking and more slashing. We took Velcuna!

They officially gave it to another lord, but there is no way I could muster enough troops to protect a city. I'm hoping to build a brewery somewhere to generate more monthly revenue.

Had a chance to try this one out for free, and figured I would give it a shot since I liked the campaign in Battlefield Hardline, and was curious (but also deeply skeptical) about the rendering of World War I in a mass-market FPS.

External image

The developers are actually trying much harder than I would have expected with regard to the source material, but there's something in the DNA of the Battlefield series that lends a glossy videogameyness that undercuts the tone I think they are going for.

But, so far I like it and it seems promising that there are five mini-campaigns following different characters in different regions of the war.

Started this as part of my challenge. Linear games like this are so much easier to play than open world ones. Borneo was shorter and not as bad as I remember. Arrived in Nepal.

Video Game: Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

So I finished Uncharted 2: Among Thieves a few days ago which was phenomenal and a huge improvement over the first one in terms of gameplay.

Now I am onto the third game in the franchise, Drake's Deception. I have to say, woah!! TONS of more fun this time around. I am about 80% finished with the game and just got through two harrowing ordeals in Drake's wild adventures so far. This entry in the series has been very enjoyable from the very beginning to where I currently am now.

My favorite thing about the entire series thus far is how they weave history and myth into the story line, making it all very believable and fun.

I know you can collect treasures throughout the game which I am doing but I'm not going for a 100% run but I'm doing what I can as I go through the game.

Continued a bit of Y3. I'm in Chapter 3.

So it's a kind of open world/kind of linear JRPG. At the moment there is lots of solving day to day problems for the kids in the orphanage. I can wander around the streets in Okinawa, visiting shops and buying food, drinks, random items, mostly stuff you would really find in Okinawa. There are thugs who will accost me on the street and need to be taught a lesson. There are side quests. Lots of minigames, mostly optional. The voice acting is all in Japanese, but a lot of the minor dialogue is text only. English subtitles.

I decided to try playing on a standard-size map this past weekend. Usually I play only on a duel or tiny map.

To my surprise, the game didn't run any longer. The only downside was having to wait longer between turns. But I'm pretty patient.

I played and lost a game on King level, as the Celts. I shared a continent with Byzantium, Rome, and Egypt. Rome attacked me early and took two cities, but I took both back before making peace. Then Rome grew to be a threat again, so I accepted when Egypt asked me to join in a war against the Romans, and we won. After peace was restored, I noticed Egypt and Byzantium had each captured a Roman city; I had too, but now Rome stood alone and was up for grabs. At my earliest opportunity, I attacked and captured Rome, to keep it out of the other powers' hands. Then followed a long phase of quiet development and exploration, broken when Egypt--far ahead in tech and wealth--decided to add my territory to its empire. After losing a couple cities, I quit.

Next, I thought I'd try a game on Prince level. My random civ this time turned out to be Morocco. I shared a continent with only the Iroquois. Later I'd discover the other six powers were all crowded onto another big continent. And most of the city-states were clustered on small continents of their own, just to my south.

When the Iroquois built a city right where my settler was headed, having arrived just one turn ahead of me, I got mean. I built a city between their capital and their new city, then meticulously cut their empire in two. Meanwhile, I built military units and worked my way up the Honor tree. They finally attacked, but their army smashed itself to pieces against my defenses, and then I went on the offensive. I made peace after capturing their capital and one other city, leaving them with only the newest city they had built in "my" spot.

However, they had started a vile religion called Protestantism, and they persisted in proselytizing against my Zoroastrianism. For a while I fought back with missionaries, but when an Iroquois settler slipped past me and founded another city, I went back on the warpath. I eliminated the Iroquois, but it took a long time to finally eradicate Protestantism.

Now I had the continent to myself, and I filled it with cities. When I discovered the six distant civilizations, I was pleased to see them bickering amongst themselves. For decades and centuries to come, none ever dared encroach upon my territory. Even the Zulus settled for denouncing me now and then. I didn't even bother to modernize my armed forces, as no threats ever manifested. Meanwhile, I did some lucrative trading.

Unfortunately, there were only two city-states on my continent. Morocco gets a bonus for establishing trade routes with city-states, but I couldn't reach many of them. In making my civ militarily strong, I ended up making it economically weak. Happiness suffered too, until I adopted the Order ideology (which is great for sprawling civs like mine).

My long-range plan is always to win over the city-states, research Globalization, and go for a diplomatic victory. But in this game, it took forever to make allies of most city-states (even after maxing out the Patronage tree and setting my spies on stirring up coups). And I lost two of them permanently due to diplomatic marriage with Austria.

I came in first in the World's Fair and International Games, and I'm ahead on the scoreboard. But when I saved and went to bed last night, it was already the year 2035 or so. Looks like I'll be sent into forced retirement soon, with only a marginal victory to show for all my centuries of hard work.

The stream continues!

I actually like this one. I'm doing a streaming series of my GT5 racing. I'm... not very good. But it's fun and I enjoy it. I stream for me, obviously.

I think I have the difficulty set too low, though, because I am faster than the other cars by a significant margin. After I learn the tracks this happens, of course, when I start I always think I'll never catch up.

Anyway, first set of races, I won the first race and came in 8th the second race. This time, I won the first race, but my second fastest lap in qualifying was crap so I started in 20th. I managed to pass all 20 cars and come in first. So that was awesome.

I dusted off Monkey Island 1 last week and finished it. This week, with MI 2 being free-with-gold on XBox, I started on the sequel.

In my opinion, the game is still fresh and deliciously funny after all these years. The special-edition artwork alone is worth revisiting this old classic.

PC version. Made some progress.

Also played a bit of card hunter, friend is playing and I sense he wants me to join him

Added some fire emblem game to my phone but I haven't done much as there is a lot of stuff going on with hero recruitment skill and level buying hideout building and a dozen different kinds of resources.

Slightly unrelated, I joined a rpggeek pbf - playing a dwarven cleric who found god at sea, in a world with no large bodies of water he's a few marbles short of a full bag

Also, received my custom mini (heroforge.com) for my live d&d 5th group.

Finally having a excuse to get back to mini painting, I borrowed some hero quest minis from a friend to brush up on my techniques. Subject 1, Ork:

Puzzler in the vein of Portal, just not as clever. Better puzzles and a much less annoying narrator than the previous effort of PNEUMA: Breath of Life.
About halfway through going off of achievement list. Started chapter 4 and there are 7 chapters.

Last night, while doing an easy side quest (Level 10), I (at Level 20) stumbled across a Level 50 dungeon in the first zone in the game. It was quite a surprise to be immediately annihilated by one enemy, and only after that happened did I notice what the level was. Oops.

Still playing this. Great game, but I find it overwhelming at times, how much there is to do and explore. ...I can't keep track of it all. There's so many ports, with so many variables and possible "goods", and so many stories to explore. Right now I'm working on following the main quest (although the Fathomking wants so many weird things that I expect this will take forever), resolving the chess game for the Principles, and sorting out my cook's story. But in every port, there's a story, and every story has risks and rewards, some of which are necessary to make ends meet, and some of which might help me out in the long run to meet the needs of the Fathomking or Principles (but death and madness always loom as a possible outcome).

It's amazing how much of a cliffhanger it leaves you on.
Not willing to dive straight into Episode 4 but still interested in getting there.

It knows it's a CRPG and I think it has one of the best turn-based combat systems I've seen for that. The encounters are kept low enough that most all feel at least a bit threatening and you can't just spam A to win any of them.

That being said, it was getting a little repetitive towards the end, but then I hit final boss time.

So I am always in love with their games, but I feel like Samorost 3 is the perfect combination of the weirdness of Samorost, the puzzles of Machinarium and the organic interactions of Botanicula. There are a couple of annoying trial and error things I've seen but they're so minimally bothersome that I have little trouble with them.

I now heavily favour the Witch Hunter, partly because I have rare (blue) weaponry for both Melee and Ranged attacks now, and I just love taking out Stormvermin with my Hand Axe.

We played the Alesso Heist, on Very Hard difficulty, and went loud as is our custom.

I accidentally left the game public, so we had a couple of random people turn up... "Peaches83" and "Large Hadron Collider"... LHC failed to realise we were going loud, so he was geared for stealth, which made things very interesting/challenging. Still we did well and manage to make it all the way to the point where we were loading bags into the container for extraction... unfortunately the two randoms were downed on the floor below Jan and I, and then both Jan and I went down and we failed the mission.

It was lots of fun playing this again, and we kept Rudy entertained in the voice chat with how manic our conversation was.

I played some of this game from one of the latest Humble Bundles. It's basically Pac Man meets Crossy Road, by the makers of Crossy Road. The cool thing about it is that you can play up to 4 player co-op. The uncool thing about it is that there really isn't much to unlock, just more powerups. No new characters or anything, and the gameplay is pretty repetitive. Still, could be fun with more players.

This is the first time I have ever played KOTOR, and I am mostly enjoying the game... I've always been a fan of Star Wars, and am on a bit of Star Wars kick at the moment, having recently watched Rogue One (twice) and finished watching Star Wars Rebels Season 1 recently.

I really like the gameplay of KOTOR, the RPG aspects, the pause-combat (which is reminiscent of the recent FTL: Faster Than Light), but the setting and story just feel a bit off.. it's obviously not cannon.. and although some things do fit (like the use of correct planet names like Kashyyyk, Taris, Dantooine), there are other things that bug me (e.g. there's a Yoda-like character on the jedi council, but he's not called Yoda).

This is my lunchtime game of choice... and despite how cheesy it is, I am enjoying it... it's a typical high-quality Artifex Mundi HOPA, with decent HO scenes and interesting puzzles.

We added Jerival to the fold. I ran a mission with him last night, hopefully more tomorrow as he had to get set up.

I tried my hand at wormhole mining. Rocks show up as warpable locations without scanning, so it appears mining rocks is just asking to get blown up. I mean, it's better money than hi-sec mining for sure, but not by quite as much as one might think. Also you get killed.

What happened was, I took my hand off the mouse for a second to type to Jerival, and someone showed up at just that time, so I wasn't ready to warp away. He dropped a bubble that trapped me and I lost 700k of ore. The ship was insured and was replaced at a reasonably low price.

Meanwhile, GAS mining doesn't show up - you have to scan it. But enemies will show up after about 15 minutes, so you have about enough time to get 5 mil of it and get out.

Anyway, it was kind of fun playing in wormhole space, though I wouldn't want to live there.
