2017: *GGCCE card list
- Jørgen KDenmark
This list is my "meta list" for received cards in the VGG and BGG Christmas Card list.Recommend
I think I will do kind of what I also did last year with finding something fitting in my collection for the photo of the card: Always a BGG item on a BGG card, and a VGG item on a VGG card - but with the item picked being somehow connected to the person who sent the card...
An example could be Jonna (Kattvippa)'s VGG card to me; since she is using "cat" as a part of her username, how could I not choose a videogame with a cat?
Or Corps_of_Oa who mentioned Golden Axe in her card - what else would be fitting to post with the card than the game itself?
But the same item never popped up twice - even on the photos! (there was two Amiga photos in 2016; because Sykurmoli had mentioned Amiga and Commodore 64 in the card - both my C64 and my Amiga 500 were already used - luckily I also have an Amiga 2000!
This year I am taking part in the VGG and BGG Christmas Card Exchanges, since I am mainly active on those domains. Then why is it on RPGG now?!
Because I am an idiot: I forgot to write a number in my sign-up for the BGGCCE (Board Game Geek Christmas Card Exchange), and it have resulted in after great work from indigopotter that I received some extra official names - and even received some "unofficial" ones, by users writing my directly on the GeekMail.
If you want to do an exchange - then feel free to write me as well!
What do I do to make the *GGCCE special?
Not so much to be honest: I try to do something special for my targets; The main thing I do is that my cards are almost always written with a vintage ink pen - I have a few different ones, and different tips as well (and I try to make my writing readable...
I always have the idea of making some of the traditional Danish woven heart baskets which are a tradition on Danish Christmas trees: Many of my foreign friends have received some throughout the years, and I think a few on the Geek have received some as well. But with work, and Christmas preparations I can not promise to make one with all - or even any... but I every year have the plan to make them. If I do, I will write a small note about the history of them, as well as signing them with the year: I do this with my own as well, and the reason for this is that on my grandparent's tree there is every year some of those baskets, and it's clear to see they are already quite old. Maybe made by my mother - maybe older - but no one knows - we just know that they are old... with a "vintage" in my hearts I can be an old man and celebrate Christmas (we use the Viking word "jul" in Danish, despite having the Christian word "Kristmesse" too) with my grandchildren and they see the old hearts, together with the new ones - and they can see that "wauw! This heart is over 30 years old!)
And I want to send a big, warm thank you to the organizers of the CCE events - even in those I do not participate in! It is great to see the spread of love you guys are helping with on the site.
