This family is used to link together all of the series of Living Arcanis RPGA convention scenarios. We will not link individual products to this family.
The Living Arcanis RPGA events occurred in five play seasons, from 2003 through 2007, and used the D&D 3/3.5 Edition rules. The scenarios were presented primarily at game conventions, though a few were intended to be played "at home" by RPGA members.
Adventures fell into broad categories, typically denoted by their module series product code.
HP - Hard Point scenarios form the "backbone" of the play season. Typically, they present a cohesive narrative arc and players are encouraged (not required) to play them in ordered sequence.
AP - Anchor Point scenarios are very similar to Hard Point scenarios; they were used only during play season 3 and 4.
SP - Soft Point scenarios introduce new ideas, regions, or concepts. Typically, they are self-contained scenarios that can be played in any order (unless noted in the description).
LA:N - Living Arcanis: Nishanpur scenarios are set in the Nishanpur region - they also are sub-divided into Hard Point and Soft Point scenarios.
IK - Invisible Kings scenarios are usually set in new regions and introduce them to players.
Intro - Introductory scenarios were intended to introduce new players to the Living Arcanis setting.
Characters who participated in any Living Arcanis scenario earned a "Cert". This physical certificate noted specific treasure, items, and experience gained by the participant character during play. Each scenario also included a "TU", or Time Unit cost. Each character could expend only a certain number of TU points per play season. Taken together, the AR and TU processes were intended to allow for a (more or less) fair playing experience.
Note the Living Arcanis organized play formed only one component of the publisher's overall Arcanis line of setting and sourcebook products. It was formally recognized as a component of the RPGA. Most scenarios were released to the public for general use - often in a slightly revised form; some scenarios have never been released.
