I've just had some videos approved through geekmod, for example http://videogamegeek.com/video/36177/zx-spectrum/your-sincla...

These are all linked to a Platform - ZX Spectrum

However there is no Videos section on the Platform page, so unless somebody browses for them from the home page, they will never be seen by anyone!

I would also like to know how you were able to submit a video to an entry without a video section

I would say the BUG is a hole in the video submission function
not that Platforms don't have a video section

I have on several occasions stated that I would like hardware to have a video section.

Simple. I was going to upload them attached to a post in the relevant Platform forum, but at the top of the New Post form it states "Notice: Please post videos in the new video section"

The "Video Section" text links to, in this case, http://videogamegeek.com/video/new/family/4950

So I used that link.

So the backend of the database seems to be entirely happy to accept videos attached to platforms, it just doesn't include a Videos section on the Platform home page. That would seem to be a very simple thing to fix.

I know that the admins were probably a bit busy recently with the server failure, but was there a response to this? It does seem a shame that the database is set up in such a way that it is happy to store videos attached to platforms - indeed that people are encouraged to do so when they create a new post - but that there is no Videos section on the main page for the item.

It should be easy to either remove the Notice about uploading videos (though I can't think for the life of me why we would want to prevent uploading videos to platforms) or add a video section to the Platform pages (my preferred option).

only Aldie or Dan can address this
I would say they have had little sleep since the server failure

maybe they would like to spend some time with family and Holiday related activities
