HMS Astute on Sea Trials
Twice in the last week, I've tried to create new games that have a lot of releases but had a failure. This was from the era when games were released on five or six 8-bit and 16-bit computers, on cassette and disk, and were then also re-released on budget labels. So there are potentially a lot of releases.
There seems to be a maximum size of data that can be submitted through the Create Video Game form. However the user is not informed of this limit. When selecting Save, the form comes back with an error in the release at where the data was cut off.
For example for the game that I have just tried to upload, the data is fine up until the 19th release. At this point the Nickname has been picked up, but everything from Release Date down has disappeared, and the form is asking me to fill in those fields again. The releases beyond this have completely disappeared. The data appears to have been truncated at this point.
Also, the option to delete a release has disappeared (only 'Add another' and 'Clone This' remain). So there is no option to delete the release with bad data and submit the rest. The only option is to create the video game from scratch with a fewer number of releases, then add the additional releases when the game is in the database.
My suggestion is either that the maximum size of data when creating a new video game is increased, or that the form limits you to a maximum number of releases before the data limit is reached. At the very least, the option to delete the release with bad data should still exist. The form absolutely should not exhibit this behaviour.
