OK; I finished up with another 15 from the last post on the previous page (90).

So that's 105 for today.

Added to my 45 minutes of shovelling snow, combined at home and work, and that's the most exercise I've done this year, I'd wager.

We'll see how I feel tomororow.

Did another 30 in 4 sets (can't ever seem to go 10,10,10 except in my first workout of the day). I may try to do more in an hour if I don't pass out before then. 60 total so far.

No need to be ashamed. That's more than you did last week.

OK, I did my fastest set of 10 in the IT stockroom at work. A hour later I found an empty conference room and did 10 more. The conference room was occupied by one guy, so I had to track down a new location for my third set. This is becoming a game. I am working a visible help desk today, so for my fourth set I just made sure no one was around and knocked out a quick 10. Another set of 10 behind the desk. Work got busy from lunch until quitting time, so I didn't get a chance to do anymore until I got home. Did another set a hour later.

The thing that has surprised me most about this challenge is how difficult it is to remember to make the time to break away and do these sets. At work it can be difficult when I am busy and at home I am usually in relax and decompress mode. I need to up my sets from 10 push ups to 15.

Total today = 70

I'm almost sorry to report that I have only some minor tightness in my abs and a dull ache in my pecs. So all is relatively fine, "next day".
I do know that I don't feel like doing any push-ups today, however.

That could also be because I only got 6 hours sleep last night, after coming home late after enjoying some very good beer over the course of the evening.

Got to work at 6:30 and knocked out a quick 10. I think my form has gotten better. Did 10 an hour later. The conf room is open again, so I was able to get more sets in. Back at my office and another set of 10.

Home from work and I don't want to do anything at all, but I forced myself to do a set. It certainly gets tougher as the day goes on. Just finished my 9th set in my room. Just one more and I have reached 100 for the first time, and it's not even 6pm yet! I did it!

Day two of the recovery.
My abs are back to normal, but I'm still feeling it in the pecs.

"Doctor, it hurts when I do this."
"Well then-- don't do that."

(Reminds me of the time that I took my car in to a mechanic once; real story!)

"When I accelerate, then take my foot off the gas, there's a whirring noise coming from the engine."
"Have you tried turning up the stereo?"

The secret in a good workout is diversity. So here's my suggestion for varying things a little: Push-ups on a couple of friends' shoulders.

I got a late jump on today and did my first set of 10 just after noon. My muscles feel tight from yesterday, so I may give them a rest today. Actually I might not have a choice because the family is meeting today to celebrate Christmas.

OK, getting them in when I can.

I only did 35 the last 2 days and 37ish today so far. Will do another few sets before bed. I have officially gone a week without any soda though, and no vending machine donuts either.

Thank you for having a place where we can post about it every day. I probably would have given up without it. Did my 10 this morning. I need to figure out when to add in another 5 or 10 to easily fit my schedule so that it just works.

I am doing calories counting. Everything I eat I write down the calories (kilojoules actually) in my diary (just the number usually). I have a target of 7200 kj for the day, but I don't stress too much. For dinner I often guesstimate since it's complex to calculate. The act of writing it down makes me mindful, which I think is helpful. I learned that carbs and sweets are super high in energy (obvious I guess) and even a small beer can have quite a bit.

PS: The free MyFitnessPal app also does calorie counting. It also lets you add foods by scanning barcodes, which is cool.

Back at work. It should be a slow day, so I am hoping to get to 100 again.

I've been doing a set of 10 every hour and I got 60 in before lunch. I have no excuse to not finish the last 40.

Total = 101 (Or 111? I may have thrown in an extra set by accident.)
