Shorten the brim on the left side. It looks longer, because of the hanged men which are not visible anymore.
Make the brim darker on the right side.

You might want to try a transparent frame.

Like this? I think the 1st looks better. The brim of the hat is really large, as you can see in the source image. I don't think the transparent frame helps, it looses detail. Unless I didn't quite understand what you meant...

Yes the brim is large, but does not go all through the sun.

I meant a frame like this:
I'm not sure, if it improves the badge.

Oh, not a fully transparent nor fully black pixel frame but a slightly darker border, like adding between 25% and 50% black transparent pixels. Did I get it now?

I appreciate your input. I think the darker border "limits" the image visually. Without it, it seems to "continue", like in the source image.

Also the brim kinda disappears in the new version. I think it's visible a separation in the first image, it does not go all the way across the sun.

I saw the poll, too, and people seem to agree. I'll submit the first image.

I appreciate all your the comments and input, though.

Thanks!

I haven't head anything about this yet:

Starting off the new year with another try of microbadging! For some time I have been missing a VIC-20 badge, and first I thought about taking a Commodore 64 badge and get it recoloured into the white colour that the VIC-20 computer was. But there were no such badge as I had thought I had seen (with a Commodore 64 Breadbin). So I went for another idea; either to continue making a white breadbin Commodore - or working with the logo instead.
I didn't think that the coloured Commodore logo it self would be enough "VIC", even if C64 never used the multicoloured logo, so I tried with the full VIC= without the 20:

Mouse over text: Either "VIC-20 fan" or something more humoristic such as "VIC-20 - The Friendly Computer" which was the slogan of the comouter

And I actually tried out the coloured C as well:

I will only upload one of them of course, unless people actually will like it and buy it and request it, then I can probably add some more if needed. So you will get the first movers to choose on which design to use.

The source image is a logo image I found on The Cronosoft Shop:

I have removed the 3D effect as it would get very messy in 16x16 as well as on the VIC version moved the letters closer together (this last part might have been a mistake, and makes it look more like the German version VC - renamed as "V" have an F-sound in German, so "VIC" would be pronounced "Fik" which is very similar to the German F-word...

Other designs used are here (including the German C, which is a bit different coloured):

Any good suggestions?

Happy new year!

Personally I like the
the best of those two. Might need a bit more work?

Jan, do you have admin rights in this thread? I'm trying to get some conformity in the titles of the various microbadge threads, for the sake of searching the forums.

example: RPGG now has 2 threads:
RPGG Microbadges - Design, Discussion, Request and Fixes Thread
RPGG Microbadges - Design, Discussion, Request and Fixes Thread (2009-2016) [CLOSED]

As you can see, the title has the years and status in them.
Could we rename this thread:
Video Game Microbadges - Design, Discussion and Request Thread (2010 ->) [OPEN]

And then, when we eventually reach page 1000, it can be renamed to (2010 - 2022) [CLOSED] for example.

It's just a suggestion ;)

Hmm. The mark of the beast isn't quite what I was envisioning for "bad." Besides, scholars have determined that the older manuscripts have the mark of the beast as 616, not 666, so it becomes less interesting at that point.

On a slightly more serious note, I'm not going for 100% perfect symbolic accuracy. Most everyone associates 666 to evil, the devil, bad things (being it correct or not). Is something is easily identifiable, that's why I used it.

I was not going for bad as in not good, I was going for bad as in evil. There's already at least one MB of the former.

The 666 to me is connected to EVIL, not just BAD...
