Just an opinion, f course.

Luckily I can ignore this completely since you didn't use bolded, enlarged letters.

I guess that's one voice for the old button with none for the new one except possibly myself? I could try lowering the 3D button one pixel, but I think I didn't like it previously, and the glares get squeezed together.

As for the edited letters, I was doubtful too at first until I noticed garion also plays with them in the original set: mb mb mb

My vote would be for the newest version (side perspective). I think that I would prefer the button's corners to be a little more rounded though.

I don't mind the modified lettering either; I think it can help convey the idea. Although, aesthetically, I find that the full green lettering just looks a little nicer.

I felt for adding a little piece something to my collection, and Kathy Rain is a little piece of something!

So here is a suggestion for a a badge - I hope you will like it:

Yes, most convenient! Not quite as easy to find as I'd hoped, though, as it took some trial and error navigating the Japanese Nintendo website to find a clean source.

That looks pretty neat! Although I feel it starts to lose that 16-bit look if you smooth out the edges. Part of the aim was for it to also fit in with other pixelated SNES-style microbagdes:

I agree with your decision to keep it pixelated, Owen.

That said, Tincho, your smoother version looks great, too. And interestingly it has exposed a weakness in one of my personal principles to microbadging: that the microbadge's appeal should typically take priority over its accuracy.

I'm almost always willing to deviate from an "accurate depiction" of the source if I think it will produce an overall better-looking microbadge. Yet, in the case of pixel art, it seems more appropriate to maintain the image's pixelated look.

Alright, so I've been on hiatus from microbadging for a while... but I never finished going through my list of video game MBs I designed. These are pixel by pixel the same as the games.

What do we think about these?
For the mouseovers, I am thinking...
Uh oh… Watch out, Mario… Look behind you… It’s Boo!

- Super Mario World - Boo A "Uh oh..."
- Super Mario World - Boo B "Watch out, Mario
- Super Mario World - Boo C "Look behind you..."
- Super Mario World - Boo D "It's Boo!"

I'd like to submit the set, with 4 different mouseovers, so I can buy them and put them in a line, creeping up behind Mario in my MB lineup.

I put it to you. I know some people hate numerous similar badges... but then there's folks like me who love the "sets."
Like... this one. mbmbmbmbmb

Thoughts?

I don't mind sets, but these seem more like variants than a set. I'd poll it and submit one. (If you really want to create a scene, you could try something like below, with a semi-transparent, "hiding" boo.)

mb

Thanks for the suggestion! It may take me a while. I haven't had time to play around with designs for a while now. But I will try something like that.

Hey, folks! It has been a while since I have submitted anything for your approval, as I have been quite busy... but I don't want this fall by the way side.

How about a poll?

Thanks for the feedback in the poll folks! So I went back and tried to create the transparent Boo like MichMedia had suggested. His tips were invaluable.

However I remembered that, though some disappeared, Boos didn't hide their faces inSuper Mario World.

(The Boos who covered their faces, like the one Mich drew, appeared in the N64 mario game. Perhaps one day I will make the N64 counterparts... but know geeks always don't want a billion similar microbadges.)

So, in keeping with the ones I originally drew (seen above) and polled, I made an SNES "Super Mario World" Boo to match/face the one that was polled/okayed by you all.

So here they are together.

Is the second, transparent Boo, also good to go for submission? Or does it need tweaking?

Soooooooo... I went a little crazy, and made about a billion old school Nintendo microbadges. Yes, I need to eventually list them separately and ask for specific feedback/use polls. But it kind of feels awesome to post them all in one big line. So here goes:

- Super Mario World - Spiny B
- Super Mario World - Spiny A
- Super Mario World - Galoomba B
- Super Mario World - Galoomba A
- Super Mario World - Boo D
- Super Mario World - Boo C
- Super Mario World - Boo B
- Super Mario World - Boo A
- Super Mario World - Bob-omb A
- Super Mario World - Bob-omb B
- Super Mario Bros. 3 - Lakitu's Cloud
- Super Mario Bros. 3 - Kuribo Shoe
- Super Mario Bros. 3 - Bullet Bill
- Super Mario Bros. 3 - Bob-omb
- Super Mario Bros. - Spiny B
- Super Mario Bros. - Spiny A
- Super Mario Bros. - Shy Guy
- Super Mario All Stars - Bob-omb
- Super Mario Bros. - Star Man
- Super Mario - "Okie Dokie!"
- Mario Pointer - "It'sa me!"
- Super Mario World - Baby Yoshi YELLOW
- Super Mario World - Baby Yoshi RED
- Super Mario World - Baby Yoshi PINK
- Super Mario World - Baby Yoshi GREEN
- Super Mario World - Baby Yoshi BLUE
- Super Mario World - Yoshi (Yes, different SMB game from the Yoshi MB that already exists.)
- Mario Trampoline
- Super Mario World - Yoshi Egg GREEN (This is not the final draft! Only my 1st draft pic is opening, the blended colors drafts of all the 5 eggs are corrupted it seems, darn. I will try again later.)

(Darn. Having trouble uploading my "Yoshi Eggs." Think the file was corrupted. No fair. Give me a minute.)

And yes, I know I already submitted a few of these back in the day. Just cutting and pasting.

No worries at all! I dropped the ball for FOUR years. Couldn’t expect anyone to scour old posts to see proposed and then neglected badges. I can’t recall the last time I played a game let alone designed a microbadge. Now I have two kids though, and it’s the happiest I’ve ever been. Plenty of time for board games in the future.
