There are 10 kinds of monsters in the dungeon. These include: orcs, trolls, slithers, green slime, giant ants, shadows, giants, purple worms, hydras, dragons.
The weakest are listed first, the dragon is strongest. The shadow cannot be fought with normal weapons. If you are affected by the shadow, you must drop your weapons and gold and run for the surface.
Dragons can be tamed to fight for you, but it is very risky to try.
You now outfit yourself with the following:
One two-edged sword
A bow with 5 arrows
One 10 foot lance
5 points worth of magic dust
You can use the lance only once
You can use the arrows only once (each)
The sword and dagger can be used any time
On some occasion you might find a magic weapon such as a magic sword or dagger. These are used just like normal weapons except that they have special abilities
