Exciting Adventure

MODEL I 48K DISK

User Summary

Atlantian Odyssey takes you on a journey under the sea to the lost city of Atlantis.

Played in the style of a text adventure, but with a large on-screen picture to illustrate each location, this program is historically significant for being the first commercial graphic adventure released for the TRS-80 Model I. Atlantian Odyssey, and the other early graphic adventure games on other platforms such as the Apple II, marked the beginning of the end for the then popular text adventure game format.

By requiring a TRS-80 Model I with 48K RAM and a disk drive, Atlantian Odyssey necessarily catered to a limited audience. At the time the program came out, many TRS-80 users were still using 16K machines and cassette tape for program storage.
