Orion is a fast-paced, first person shooter with a heavy emphasis on team-based, multiplayer play. The game itself is set on an alien world that is similar in nearly every way to our earth in prehistoric times. The development of this game gives us as a team the wonderful opportunity to focus on what we view as the core of action genre game play.
This game goes through frequent major name and game play changes.
ORION: Dino Beat Down - First name used.
ORION: Dino Horde - Re-released under this name.
Orion: Prelude - Newest name.
The ORION Project and Orion: Prelude may or may not have been the same game at one point before splitting off. Late 2016/early 2017, The ORION Project and Orion: Prelude were available on Steam as individual games with separate pages.
The game was removed from Steam on June 27, 2016 after a complaint from Activision accused them of stealing weapon assets from Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Trek Industries CEO, David Prassel admitted to the theft and removed the assets. The game became available again in July. Trek Industries has also admitted to using assets from Unnatural Selection 2, Primal Carnage, and Star Wars.
