From the Inlay:
Welcome to the Amsoft Golf Course
This exciting new computer simulation of an 18 hole golf course will enable you to improve your skill level of the game, in other words, lower your handicap.
This golf game is played from a top-down perspective when playing from the tee or fairway, switching to a side-on view when putting.
For each stroke, the player enters the club, the angle and the strength. The computer then shows the result of the shot. In a bunker, the sand-wedge is assumed, and on the green a putter is assumed. On the green, the direction is also assumed and the player only needs to select the power.
At the conclusion of the round, the player's score is compared against the par for the course and their handicap. If they have beaten the par plus their handicap, then they are given a new, lower handicap. This is accompanied by a code, which can be entered at the start of a new game to play at the lower handicap. The ultimate aim is to reduce your handicap to "scratch" (0).
