This arcade-style game achieves an impressive graphics animation without the use of any machine language.
Laser Gunner is an arcade-type action game. The player controls a laser gun which moves up and down on the left of the screen behind a force field and fires an invading enemy spaceships. The invaders also fire lasers and attempt to open holes in the force field. Every hit weakens the force field until an entire hole is made. A hit through a hole ends the game.
Laser Gunner was written by Gary R. Lecompte and published as type-in source code in Compute! Issue 30, November 1982. Versions were published for the PET/CBM and Atari 8-bit systems.
A major revision (only for Atari) appeared later as Atari Laser Gunner II.
