Trivia:

Many of the games characters and names are from Celtic mythology and stories of the Orkney Islands.

The city of Dounby is only a few kilometers away from the ruins of Skara Brae where the original Bard's Tale trilogy takes place.

The towns of Kirkwall, Dounby, Finstown, Houton, and Stromness are the names of actual locations in the Orkney Islands. While Dún Ailinne, Ardagh, Carrowmore, Emain Macha, and Tara are the names of actual places in Ireland.
