Alternate Reality: The City is an RPG by Philip Price primarily developed for the Atari 8-bit. It featured a number of technological breakthroughs and an intriguing storyline.
It was to be the first of six or seven releases in the Alternate Reality series, but only it and the sequel The Dungeon were ever released.
The City opened with a cinematic sequence of being abducted by an alien ship, then stepping through a portal which assigned your stats. After that, it became a fantasy RPG set in the city of Xebec's Demise.
