MotoGP: Ultimate Racing Technology 2 is the direct successor of MotoGP: Ultimate Racing Technology for the Xbox and PC. The game is based on the 2002 MotoGP season.
Many of the features from the first game are carried over in the sequel. MotoGP 2 contains a mix of arcade and simulation play modes. There are six game modes to play: Quick Race, Stunt, Training, Time Trial, Grand Prix, and Tag Race. Stunt and Tag Race are new to the series.
Stunt Mode is a different style of time trial where the player is awarded bonus points for performing tricks. Succeeding in Stunt Mode unlocks new tracks and videos from the actual 2002 season. MotoGP 2 includes 16 tracks and 20 licensed riders from the circuit.
The game can be played in 4-player split screen on the Xbox, and both releases support up to 16 player online multiplayer.
