User Summary

Otohime (Princess Oto/Queen Oto) is the twenty seventh ruler of the Dragonians and wife to King Wada. When Oni Island appeared and the oceans became plagued by evil beings her husband King Wada used the ancient Dragonian right of transformation to become the Dragonian’s guardian deity the water dragon to protect the Dragon Palace. He succeeded but was driven insane.

With a rampaging dragon and Oni Island unreachable neither land nor sea was safe. Otohime wishing to find a solution sent the goddess Ōkami Amaterasu to retrieve the Dragon Orb from within King Wada’s body to break the barrier surrounding Oni Island. When the Dragon Orb was removed it killed King Wada and with the Dragon Orb now in her possession Otohime used the ancient Dragonian right of transformation to become a water dragon like King Wada. She then broke Oni Island’s barrier and used her body to form a bridge so Amaterasu could cross.

Otohime once again became a water dragon to provide water transportation to Amaterasu’s son Chibiterasu.

Trivia:

In conventional legends Otohime's name is usually written with kanji meaning "youngest princess".

It is revealed that Otohime is pregnant with the child and successor of King Wada in the artwork after the ending credits.

In the sequel Ōkamiden Otohime becomes a water dragon while King Wada is still a dragon and raging with insanity. This contradicts the reasons the Dragon Orb was needed in the first game.
