The owner of the Hotel Dusk, Dunning is a man who doesn't seem well-suited to the hospitality business. On the other hand, he does have a clever naming system for many of the rooms, drawing customers in. (Though he's a bit miffed at Hyde for dismissing it so coldly.) He also seems to have an eye for art, though the subjects are rather ordinary, the paintings he has scattered through the hotel are quite well-done.
When he's not running the front desk, he likes to watch hockey while eating chips. He seems defensive at points, and throws Hyde out if he suspects he's still a police officer.
