One of the great people in our industry, Trip Hawkins, once said his ambition was to create computer games that were like 'real life in a box'. We were reminded of the other 'real life in a box': an aquarium. There are (or used to be, at least) too many entertainment companies with names starting with 'A'. Besides, a 'Q' makes a much more unique logo. Therefore: 'Quarium'.
Our company started in the early days of the CD-ROM entertainment bubble. Every company had their own 'interactive' division. That bubble has come and gone, but we learned a lot and we are still here. Then came the e-commerce bubble. Every company had their own 'online' division. That bubble has come and gone, but we learned a lot and we are still here. Now we are at the cutting edge of the latest 'wireless' (oops, bubble gone too) and 'online entertainment' waves. In fact, we see another interesting wave building, but that is another story...
