2K Australia Pty. Ltd. was an Australian video game developer based in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. The studio was founded in 2000 as Irrational Canberra with Jonathan Chey taking the helm, and in 2007 they changed their name to 2K Australia.
On 16 April 2015, the studio announced it was closing, stating that the costs of operating a game studio in Australia was too high. 2K was Australia's only remaining AAA developer.
2K Australia Pty. Ltd. was formally known as Irrational Canberra until 2007.
In 2010 2K Australia Pty. Ltd. merged with 2K Marin.
In 2011 2K Australia Pty. Ltd. and 2K Marin split into separate companies once more.
