Nippon Columbia is a Japanese record label, founded in 1910 as Nipponophone Co Ltd. The name Nippon Columbia was taken in 1946 and kept since, with an intermediate name as Columbia Music Entertainment between 2002 and 2010.
The software developpment division of Nippon Columbia is the former software division of TDK, then called TDK Core (founded in 2001), and after aquisition in 2007 renamed to Creative Core. In 2010, Creative Core was separated from the main company, and Columbia took over all its titles.
This developper/publisher entry thus encompasses both TDK Core, Creative Core and Nippon Columbia.
Since 2012, they have mainly developped and published educational/toy-ish software for children, for the Nintendo 3DS (games where the player must take care of pets, or do nurse-mini games, or handle a small café) apparently aimed at an age audience of about 7–10. They have also done various character franchise based games such as Mameshiba and Sumikko-gurashi.
