Rocket Bear Games is a one-man indie studio in Vancouver. I collaborate with others on a project-by-project basis. It's based in my bedroom and I wouldn't have it any other way.
In 2008 I started making free PC games and putting them up online for everyone to enjoy. My day job was working as a programmer and business analyst in the brokerage industry. After a while, people were saying that they enjoyed my work, and I started considering the crazy idea of leaving my job to make games as a business.
Deciding to go indie has been the best choice I've ever made in my life. A big part of it has been joining a vibrant and exciting community of artists. A friend and I have founded Full Indie - a group to help small game creators in Vancouver. We have hundreds of members now and are one of the largest indie groups in North America. Hanging out with people there, you can't help but feel that you've glimpsed a small sliver of the future.
Based in Vancouver, Canada.
