Play It Again Sam was a long-running series of compilations by Superior Software. Each compilation was made up of four games, usually Superior or Acornsoft titles, but often also from other companies. Frequently a previously unreleased title was included.
The compilations were released for both the Acorn Electron and BBC series of computers with many released on all three media formats used in Electron and BBC computers - Cassette, 5 1/4" disk and 3.5" disk. The games were usually common between the Electron and BBC versions of the compilation, but on occasions when an Electron version of a game was not available, an alternative would be substituted. In some cases a BBC conversion of an Electron game (or vice versa) would appear for the first time on these compilations.
Over the course of the series many of the very best games released for the BBC family of computers were included, which made the compilations very popular.
