THQ Inc. (Toy Head-Quarters) is a worldwide international American developer and publisher of video games. Founded in 1989, the company develops products for video game consoles, handheld game systems, as well as for personal computers and wireless devices.

THQ was founded as a toy company in 1989 and did not start developing video games until 1990.
In 1993, THQ acquired Black Pearl.
In 1997, THQ acquired Pacific Coast Power & Light (PC&L).
In 2000, THQ acquired Volition, Inc..
In 2004, THQ acquired Relic Entertainment.
On November 17 2004, THQ acquired Blue Tongue Entertainment.
In 2006, THQ acquired Vigil Games.
In 2006, THQ formed the subsidiary Kaos Studios.
In March 2006, THQ acquired Juice Games.
In 2009, THQ acquired Midway Studios San Diego.
On January 23, 2013 THQ went bankrupt.
On June 12, 2014 Nordic Games GmbH acquired the THQ trademark and publishes games under the THQ name.
