The Toukon Retsuden series of officially licensed New Japan Pro Wrestling video games includes eight games across five different consoles.
The games use a rock-paper-scissors engine to determine move priority. Each wrestler has strikes, power moves, and submission moves. Strikes beat power moves, power moves beat submission moves, and submission moves beat strikes. If the players (or player and computer) use the same move at the same time the move with the higher priority connects.
Another highly popular, unique feature of the games (especially the early PlayStation games) is the ability to save matches to the memory card.
