Rules FAQ

Movement

Mouse Movement

Q. Do I have to make a movement roll even if I don't intend to move?
A. Yes. Some tiles will have special rules that trigger based on this roll so it is best to get in the habit.

Minion Movement

Q. Do I make a movement roll for each minion or just each type?
A. Roll a die for each minion figure on the tile. Each minion will move towards the nearest hero the number of spaces rolled on it's die.

Adjacent Spaces

Yellow/Red Lines

Each yellow line that divides two spaces is marked with an arrow that points in one direction. Crossing a yellow line against the direction of that arrow costs 3 spaces of movement. Crossing a yellow line with the direction of that arrow costs the usual 1 space of movement. Spaces divided by a yellow line are considered adjacent to one another.

Mice cannot move from one space to another if they must cross a red line to do so. Spaces divided by a red line are not considered adjacent to one another.

There are 2 types of encounter cards included in this game, differentiated by their background colors. Encounter cards are used to determine what kinds of minions the mice will find when they enter a new area. The encounter that the mice will face is based on which page space the hourglass marker is on when the encounter is triggered. Encounter cards will also determine the next random surge that the mice must overcome.

Abilities:
Collin:
- Backslash - 1mb - You may use this ability after this mouse defeats a minion using a sharp melee weapon. This mouse attacks again using that weapon. This ability can only be used once per turn.
- Battle Leader - 2mb - You may use this ability immediately after taking a turn with this mouse. Choose a mouse that is higher on the initiative track. Switch this mouse's initiative card with the initiative card of the chosen mouse. The chosen mouse may now immediately take a turn.
- Battle Squeak - 1mb - You may use this ability at any time during this mouse's turn. Until the end of this turn, whenever this mouse makes a melee attack, add 1 to its battle during that attack.
- Feint - 2mb - You may use this ability when a minion moves into a space occupied by this mouse. If this mouse has more than 1 weapon equipped, it may immediately attack that minion.
- First Aid - 2mb - You may use this ability as a free action. Remove 1 wound marker from a mouse that is on the same spaceas this mouse. Healers pay 1 less cheese to use this ability. First Aid can only be used once per turn.
- Give Order - 1mb - You may use this ability instead of moving this mouse. Choose a mouse on the same tile as this mouse. The chosen mouse may immediately perform 1 action.
- Inspire - 2mb - You may use this ability before taking a turn with this mouse. Until the end of this round, after a mouse performs an action, that mouse may spend 1 cheese to perform 1 additional action. A mouse can only perform 1 additional action in this way.
- Protect - 1mb - You may use this ability at the beginning of this mouse's turn. Until this mouse's next turn, all mice on the same space as this mouse count http://cf.geekdo-images.com/images/pic2044816.jpg as 2 successes instead of 1 when defending.
- Resolve - 2mb - You may use this ability before rolling to defend with this mouse. Add 2 dice to this mouse's defense for that roll.
- Thundersqueak - ?mb - You may use this ability when attacking with a blunt weapon. All minions on the same space as this mouse are affected by that attack. Roll Defense Separately for each minion. The cost of this ability is equal to the number of minions on the space.

Filch:
- Dodge - 1mb - You may use this ability immediately after any figure, including this one, ends its move. Move this mouse up to 2 spaces.
- Energy Rush - 2mb - You may use this ability after taking an action with this mouse. Take an additional action with this mouse.
- Find - 2mb - You may use this ability after rolling a successful search roll. Instead of drawing 1 card, draw 3 cards from the search deck and pick 1. Shuffle the other 2 cards back into the deck.
- First Aid - 2mb - You may use this ability as a free action. Remove 1 wound marker from a mouse that is on the same space as this mouse. Healers pay 1 less cheese to use this ability. First Aid can only be used once per turn.
- Keen Eye - 1mb - You may use this ability before this mouse performs a search action. That search is considered a success on any roll that does not show a cheese symbol.
- Knife Strike - 2mb - You may use this ability instead of performing this mouse's normal battle action. This mouse attacks once with each knife or dagger equipped.

Lily:
- Accurate Shot - 2mb - You may use this ability before making a ranged attack with this mouse. The target of that attack rolls 2 fewer dice when defending against the attack.
- Aimed Shot - 1mb - You may use this ability before making a ranged attack with this mouse. Add 1 to this mouse's battle during that attack.
- First Aid - 2mb - You may use this ability as a free action. Remove 1 wound marker from a mouse that is on the same space as this mouse. Healers pay 1 less cheese to use this ability. First Aid can only be used once per turn.
- Keen Eye - 1mb - You may use this ability before this mouse performs a search action. That search is considered a success on any roll that does not show a cheese symbol.
- Power Shot - 3mb - You may use this ability before making a ranged attack with this mouse. Double this mouse's battle during that attack.
- Preemptive Shot - 1mb - You may use this ability immediately after new minions are placed on the board. Choose a minion that was just placed. This mouse makes 1 ranged attack against that minion. Preemptive Shot can only be used once each time new minions are added.

Maginos:
- Chain Lightning - 3mb - You may use this ability instead of performing this mouse's normal battle action. Choose up to a number of minions equal to this mouse's current lore. Each minion figure chosen is attacked byt this mouse with a ranged attack. The battle value of that attack is 3. Roll 3 action dice once to attack. Each minion defends separately.
- First Aid - 2mb - You may use this ability as a free action. Remove 1 wound marker from a mouse that is on the same space as this mouse. Healers pay 1 less cheese to use this ability. First Aid can only be used once per turn.
- Invisibility - 1mb - You may use this ability at the end of this mouse's turn. Until its next turn, this mouse is invisible. An invisible mouse is completely ignored by minions as if t were not on the tile at all. An invisible mouse cannot be attacked. minions do not have to stop on a space with an invisible mouse.
- Meeps - 1mb - You may use this ability any time during Maginos' turn. Place the Meeps marker under a minion figure on the same tile as Maginos. While on the Meeps marker, that minion rolls 1 less die when defending against an attack from any mouse. At the beginning of Maginos' next turn remove the Meeps marker from the board and place it on Maginos' card.
- Mystic Blast - 2mb - You may use this ability instead of performing a normal battle action with this mouse. Choose a space within view of this mouse and on the same tile as this mouse. All figures on the chosen space are attacked by this mouse with a ranged attack. The battle value of that attack is 2. Roll 2 action dice once to attack. Any http://cf.geekdo-images.com/images/pic2044791.jpg results count as 2 successes. Each figure defends separately.
- Mystic Bolt - 1mb - You may use this ability instead of performing a normal battle action with this mouse. Choose a minion that is on the same tile as this mouse. The chosen minion is attacked by this mouse with a ranged attack. The battle value of that attack is equal to this mouse's lore.

Nez:

Tilda:
- Cure - ?mb - You may use this ability as an action. Spend up to 3 cheese. For each cheese spent, remove 1 poison wound marker or 1 effect marker from a mouse on the same space as this mouse.
- First Aid - 2mb - You may use this ability as a free action. Remove 1 wound marker from a mouse that is on the same space as this mouse. Healers pay 1 less cheese to use this ability. First Aid can only be used once per turn.
- Fortify - 2mb - You may use this ability anytime during this mouse's turn. All mice on the same tile as this mouse add 1 to their defense until this mouse's next turn.
- Major Heal - 2mb - You may use this ability as an action. Choose 1 mouse on the same space as this mouse or a space adjacent to this mouse. Remove up to 2 wound markers from the chosen mouse. Or choose 2 mice on the same space as this mouse or spaces adjacent to this mouse. Remove 1 wound marker from each chosen mouse.

List of Search Cards

Treachery

- Abduction - Play immediately, this mouse becomes captured & can only be rescued when a fellow mouse makes a successful search action.
- Moldy Cheese - Play immediately. Remove all cheese from this mouse's stash.
- Poison Cheese - Play immediately. This mouse receives a poison wound counter.
- Shriek Bug - Play immediately. Roll a number of dice equal to this mouse's lore. If the number results total 3 or less, add 2 rat warriors to the tile on any minion entry space and add their card to the initiative track if necessary.
- Stolen Cheese - Play immediately. If there is a scamp in the party, remove 2 cheese from this mouse's stash unless this mouse is the scamp. In that case, add 2 cheese to this mouse's stash instead.
- They Know We're Here - Play immediately. Place this card face up near the encounter deck. The next time you reveal an encounter card, place all non-ranged figures on that card in spaces adjacent to the mice.

Fortunes

- Cheese Cache - Play immediately. Each mouse on this tile gets 1 mb.
- Plans Revealed - Play immediately. Move the Hourglass marker back 1 page if possible. Reshuffle into deck.
- Rest Spot - Play immediately. If there are no minions on the board, remove all woulnds from all mice, then add a cheese to the wheel.

Single-Paw Weapons

- Clawbiter (Sharp, Before attacking, spend up to 3 mb. for each mb spent, add 1 to battle value. 3 lore only)
- Collin's Sword (Sharp, +1 Melee. Warrior only)
- Dagger (Sharp, Minions lower on Init Track have -1 def.)
- Needle Rapier (Sharp/Melee, +1 Melee, When rolling defense, this mouse may spend 1 mb to add 1 def die. Warrior/Scamp/Archer only)
- Scorching Wand (Magic, +0 Ranged, Battle value = lore. Mystic or Healer only)
- Slicing Dagger (Sharp, For each mb rolled when attacking, give 1 mb to a chosen mouse)

- Tinkerer's Treasure - Take any 1 weapon or armor card from search deck, shuffle this card back in. Tinkerer only
- Whiskerfroth Elixir - Discard to take away all wound, effect & poison wound counters from this mouse.

Tricks

- Desperate Rescue (Discard on your turn to immediately return a captured mouse to play)
- Determination (Discard when hourglass moves to add 2 mb to each mouse's stash)
- Heroic Sacrifice (If fellow mouse receives wounds and would be captured, discard to ignore all those wounds and instead, capture this mouse. Remove all cheese from the wheel.)
- Intense Cowering (Discard to avoid being attacked by minion, it must choose new target if possible)
- Tail Link (Discard instead of battle action when another mouse shares your space to defeat a minion in that space. Does not work on large or boss minions.)

Party Items

- Catnip - Discard if adjacent to or on same space as Brodie to defeat him immediately.
- Dinner Fork - Rulebook Page 18.
- Disguises - Discard the next time Rat Warriors would be placed because of an encounter card. Does not work on Elites or other minions.

- Fishhook & Thread - Rulebook Page 18. Fishhook & Thread allows the mice to access areas of the board that are either hard to reach or normally impossible to access. At anytime on a mouse’s turn, the player controlling that mouse can remove the Fishhook & Thread token from the party stash and place it on the board. It does not cost an action to place the token.
The Fishhook & Thread token is always placed so that one end is on the space occupied by the mouse that is using it. The other end must be placed so that it is clearly within another space on the same room tile. At least one end of the token must be on a non-water space.
Once placed, any mouse can use their normal movement to move between the spaces on either end of the Fishhook & Thread token as if they were normal adjacent spaces. A mouse on the same space as one of the ends of the token can use an action to remove the token and place it back in the party stash. If the mice leave a room tile that still has the token on it, remove the token from the
