Family History
Tegwyn has heard stories of his Great-Grandfather Olwydd from his nursemaid, but she has never had a good relationship with truth. He lived at the time when the Romans left Britain and saw both Saxon invasions and political intrigue. In the religious struggles of the period he adopted a British Christian stance. He died in 438, just in time to see his son, Pennar, knighted. He departed the earth with 1600 Glory.

Pennar had 1123 Glory when he was knighted. He was a virtuoso with the lute and taught many in his family the finer points of playing. The young knight's mettle was tested early when he was sent to fight off Irish raiders. He acquitted himself well, but his stories about the fearsome warriors clad in little but paint have left the family with much enmity toward the foreigners.

Although not present at the murder of King Constantin in 440, he also grew to distrust the knights of Silchester. He died the same year, victim to a Pictish surprise attack while on guard duty. Pennar died with 1228 Glory, leaving behind a young son, Tomos.

The Night of Long Knives occur in 463, many of the knights of Salisbury were killed. Tomos is knighted the following year with 1123 Glory. The same year, Tomos was married to a landed widow, and claims the estate of Berwick St. James. His son, Tegwyn, is born in 465.

He fights at the Siege of Carlion for its entirety, 466-467. The High King Aurelius Ambrosius, maintains an uneasy peace with the Saxons, Irish, and Picts for some years despite their raiding. Tomos earns a reputation as a stalwart knight, helping battle back against the foreign troops time and again, including at the Battle of Windsor in 473. The Saxons won the day, but many spoke of Tomos' bravery. He recovered a gold ring from the body of a Saxon chieftain during an early skirmish of the battle and later gave it to his son Tegwyn as a memento.

Tomos' last years are spent on garrison duty. He died in 477 defending a village bordering the Saxon King Ælle's domain in Kent. Tomos passed with 1383 Glory. Tegwyn begins his first steps to knighthood with 138 Glory.
